Radical-curable adhesive composition and adhesive
A radical-curable adhesive composition containing a rubber (a) having one or more (meth)acryloyl groups within a single molecular chain, a polymerizable monomer (b) having both an epoxy group and a (meth)acryloyloxy group in the molecule, and a radical polymerization initiator (c). The rubber (a) is preferably a polymer of a monomer containing at least acrylonitrile.
Curable compositions
A curable composition, includes a diluent, an epoxy functionalized resin derived from a nutshell oil, an epoxy-rubber copolymer adduct, and a curing agent. There is disclosed a method for making the curable composition, a method of imbuing improved flexibility to a curable composition and a method for improving oily metal adhesion of a curable composition. The method of imbuing improved flexibility to a curable composition includes providing a curable composition, adding an epoxy functionalized resin derived from a nutshell oil and adding a liquid modified hydrocarbon resin derived from a nutshell oil.

THERMALLY CURING ADHESIVE AND ADHESIVE TAPE PRODUCED THEREFROM
An adhesive, more particularly a thermally curable, meltable, preferably pressure-sensitive adhesive, which is curable thermally from a temperature of 110 C., is storage-stable for approximately one month at 60 C. and longer than one year at 23 C., and an adhesive tape produced therefrom, comprising an epoxide-functionalized acrylonitrile/butadiene copolymer having on average more than 1.5 epoxide groups per molecule, and the ground reaction product of phthalic anhydride and diethylenetriamine, for use in the automotive industry both in bodyshell construction on oiled metal sheets and in the coating line on cathodically electrocoated or otherwise-coated metal sheets, for bonding and/or sealing, for example for hem fold bonding, for hem fold sealing, for seam sealing, for underseal bonding, for hole stopping, and much more.

Epoxy terminated butadiene and butadiene acrylonitrile copolymers
Novel method for production of epoxy terminated butadiene and butadiene acrylonitrile copolymer tougheners synthesized through the use of hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene and hydroxyl terminated butadiene acrylonitrile copolymers as starting materials. The epoxy terminated butadiene and butadiene acrylonitrile copolymers synthesized by the novel method have unexpectedly lower viscosity, contain no free epoxy and provide good improvements in T-peel resistance over traditional tougheners produced using traditional methods. Adhesives, composites and coatings utilizing the tougheners of the inventive method are within the scope of the invention.
SELECTIVELY MELTABLE ADHESIVES FOR BONDING OF DEICERS
A method of making an adhesive for an ice protection assembly includes mixing ferrous nanoparticles into the adhesive. Removal of the adhesive for ice protection assembly inspection or repair includes heating the ferrous nanoparticles in the adhesive to soften the adhesive and allow for easy removal or repositioning of the ice protection assembly.
