[Problem] To provide a slide fastener chain and a slide fastener, which have a small curvature radius and which have flexibility enabling the slide fastener chain and the slide fastener to be smoothly bent. [Solution] A slide fastener chain (1) comprises: a pair of fastener tapes (2); and elements (3) affixed to the facing edges (21) of the fastener tapes (2) at a predetermined pitch. A zipper guide is provided to facilitate closure of an open-ended zipper. The zipper guide includes a base to which a zipper tape pin end is attached and a slider to which a zipper tape box end is attached. A key on a lower surface of the slider slides in a trench in an upper surface of the base at an orientation that guides the attached zipper tape box end toward the attached zipper tape pin end by planar sliding movements of the slider lower surface with respect to the base upper surface.

A slider assembly includes: a slider comprising upper and lower plates provided with teeth guides, and a post connecting the upper and lower plates, the slider interlocking the teeth while advancing along the teeth arranged a set distance apart on each sides of first and second tapes; and separating the teeth while moving backwards therealong; a locking unit, disposed at the longitudinal-direction end of the first tape, for restricting the backward movement of the slider; and a bottom unit, disposed at the longitudinal-direction end of the second tape, elastically coupling with the locking unit by the vertical pressure (in the direction of the thickness of the tape) applied by the overlapping locking unit pressing down, and uncoupling therefrom by the force of moving the slider backwards. The slider assembly can be included in a zipper.
