To provide an amine catalyst for curing a polyisocyanate which can satisfy both initial moldability before a thermal compression step and high reactivity at the time of thermal compression molding, and an adhesive composition containing it. A catalyst comprising an amine compound (1) represented by the formula (1) and an amine compound (2) represented by the formula (2) is used as an amine catalyst for curing a polyisocyanate compound. ##STR00001##

The two-part curable adhesive composition contains a main agent (A) containing a urethane prepolymer (a1) and a residual polyisocyanate (a2), and a curing agent (B) containing a polyol compound (b1) and a polyamine compound (b2). The urethane prepolymer (a1) is made by reacting in an equivalent ratio of an isocyanate group in a raw material polyisocyanate to a hydroxy group in a polycarbonate polyol being 2.05 or greater. The equivalent ratio of an isocyanate group in the main agent (A) to an active hydrogen group in the curing agent (B) is from 0.5 to 4.

Sulfur-containing polyureas and methods of use

Sulfur-containing polyurea compositions comprising a polyisocyanate and a polyamine are disclosed. The polyisocyanate comprises the reaction product of reactants comprising a diisocyanate having isocyanate groups with different reactivities toward thiol groups, and a thiol-terminated sulfur-containing polymer such as a thiol-terminated polythioether polymer and/or a thiol-terminated polyformal polymer. The polyamine can be an aromatic polyamine and/or an aromatic amine-terminated polythioether adduct. The sulfur-containing polyurea compositions are useful as aerospace sealants.

Sulfur-containing polyureas and methods of use

Sulfur-containing polyurea compositions comprising a polyisocyanate and a polyamine are disclosed. The polyisocyanate comprises the reaction product of reactants comprising a diisocyanate having isocyanate groups with different reactivities toward thiol groups, and a thiol-terminated sulfur-containing polymer such as a thiol-terminated polythioether polymer and/or a thiol-terminated polyformal polymer. The polyamine can be an aromatic polyamine and/or an aromatic amine-terminated polythioether adduct. The sulfur-containing polyurea compositions are useful as aerospace sealants.

Semi-IPN polyurethane/polyurea protective films

Briefly, the present disclosure provides a film, tape or outer layer of a composite part comprising: a) at least one layer comprising a crosslinked polymer selected from the group consisting of crosslinked polyurethane, crosslinked polyurea, and crosslinked mixed polyurethane/polyurea polymer; and in some embodiments b) an adhesive layer. In some embodiments the layer additionally comprises a non-crosslinked polymer forming a semi-IPN with the crosslinked polymer. In some embodiments the non-crosslinked polymer may be selected from the group consisting of polyurethane, polyurea, and mixed polyurethane/polyurea polymer. In some embodiments the crosslinked polymer may additionally comprise an acrylate-containing component.
