Cure-on-demand liquid sealant composition, process for the preparation thereof and uses thereof
The present invention is directed to a liquid sealant composition based on polysulphide, capable of curing on demand, and the process for preparing same, the liquid sealant composition including: (i) a polysulphide comprising an —SH end group, (ii) a crosslinking agent chosen from ethylenically unsaturated or acetylenically unsaturated compounds, the unsaturated ethylenic or unsaturated acetylenic functions of the crosslinking agent being chemically blocked with a blocking agent, and (iii) optionally, a catalyst. The present invention also relates to a process for coating a substrate with a composition according to the invention, and also to the cured sealant materials formed from this composition. Finally, the invention relates to the use of a liquid sealant composition according to the invention for the construction and/or the maintenance, and more particularly for the adhesive bonding and/or the protection, of vehicles and machines.
POLYARYLENE SULFIDE RESIN COMPOSITION, MOLDED ARTICLE, COMPOSITE MOLDED ARTICLE, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING COMPOSITE MOLDED ARTICLE
A polyarylene sulfide resin molded article that maintains characteristics, e.g., mechanical characteristics, of the polyarylene sulfide resin molded article and has excellent adhesiveness to a silicone resin and releasability, a polyarylene sulfide resin composition for providing the molded article, a molded article produced by molding the polyarylene sulfide resin composition, a composite molded article produced by bonding the molded article to a cured material composed of a silicone resin, and a method for producing the composite molded article are provided. Specifically, a polyarylene sulfide resin composition containing a polyarylene sulfide resin, a dimethylpolysiloxane, a fatty acid ester, and a silane coupling agent as indispensable components, a molded article produced by molding the polyarylene sulfide resin composition, a composite molded article produced by bonding the molded article to a cured material composed of a silicone resin, and a method for producing a composite molded article are provided.
IONIC LIQUID CATALYSTS IN SULFUR-CONTAINING POLYMER COMPOSITIONS
Compositions comprising thiol-terminated sulfur-containing prepolymers, curing agents reactive with the thiol-terminated sulfur-containing prepolymers, and ionic liquid catalysts, useful in aerospace sealant applications are disclosed. The use of ionic liquid catalysts provides curable sealant compositions having an extended working time and a rapid cure rate.
SYSTEM FOR INCREASING THE HEIGHT OF SEAWALLS
A seawall comprising a base with a top, a plurality of extensions on the top of the base, and an adhesive or sealant securing the extensions to the base. Each extension comprises a plurality of spaced apart rubber poles extending generally in a direction horizontal to the sea floor, and an outer rubber covering surrounding the poles. A method of increasing the height of a seawall comprising the steps of placing a plurality of the extensions on top of the seawall with the poles extending substantially parallel to the sea floor, and securing the extensions to the top of the seawall.

Methods of disassembling apparel products having disulfide adhesives
Embodiments provide methods of disassembling apparel products. The methods include exposing an adhesive of the apparel product to a composition having an acidic or basic pH. The adhesive is disposed at least partially between a major component and a minor component of the apparel product. The adhesive includes a material having a disulfide bond. The major component forms a base portion of the apparel product and is configured to be supported and worn at least partially over a portion of a wearer. The minor component forms a secondary portion configured to be coupled to the major component with the adhesive. The methods include separating the major component from the minor component adjoined by the adhesive.
