PRESSURE-SENSITIVE ADHESIVE SHEET FOR SURFACE PROTECTION
An objective is to provide a surface-protective PSA sheet capable of reducing adherend damage and well maintaining appearance, etc. The surface-protective PSA sheet capable of reducing adherend damage and well maintaining appearance, etc., comprises a surface layer, a resin substrate layer and a PSA layer, and has a multilayer structure with the resin substrate layer placed between the surface layer and the PSA layer, wherein the surface layer is a layer obtainable by curing a heat-curable composition comprising the following components: (a) a hydroxyl group-containing (meth)acrylic copolymer having a glass transition temperature of −40° C. to 30° C.; (b) an allophanate polyisocyanate and/or a biuret polyisocyanate; and (c) a polysiloxane comprising a hydroxyl group-containing hydrocarbon group and/or polymer.
TACK SOLUTIONS AND THEIR USE IN APPLYING FILMS TO SUBSTRATES
The present invention is directed to tack solutions comprising formic acid, and their use in applying adhesive-coated films to substrates. In particular, paint protection films (PPFs) can be applied to vehicle bodies using the solutions of the present invention.
Polymeric Sheet Useful for Application to Concave Surface Topographies of Articles and Related Methods
Polymeric sheets of the invention comprise sequential layers as follows: a topcoat layer, a polyurethane-based carrier layer, and an adhesive layer. The polyurethane-based carrier layer is formed using essentially no chain extender having a molecular weight of 350 grams/mole or less, resulting in a relatively low storage modulus polymeric sheet. Such polymeric sheets are particularly useful for application to surfaces having a concave topography.
DECORATIVE FILM FOR VEHICLE EXTERIOR
A decorative film for a vehicle exterior of an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a resin layer and an adhesive layer, wherein tearing strength of the resin layer is approximately 8.0 N or more at 20° C., the adhesive layer includes a reaction product of a crosslinking agent and a (meth)acrylate polymer obtained from a material containing a monoethylenically unsaturated monomer and an unsaturated monomer containing a carboxyl group, a glass transition temperature of the (meth)acrylate polymer is approximately −58° C. or more and approximately −40° C. or less, and the unsaturated monomer containing a carboxyl group is incorporated by an amount of approximately 3 mass % or more and approximately 10 mass % or less of a total amount of 100 mass % of the monoethylenically unsaturated monomer and the unsaturated monomer containing a carboxyl group is described. The decorative film may be capable of reducing a defect such as lifting p even in exposure to wind, rain, wind pressure and the like.
UV-CURABLE ADHESIVE COMPOSITION FOR DIGITAL PRINTING
An adhesive composition polymerizable by applying ultraviolet radiation comprising an acrylate resin and a photoinitiator, said acrylate resin comprising at least one acrylate monomer, and optionally, an acrylate oligomer; a process for the application of a covering layer to a polymeric product comprising the step of applying the afore-mentioned adhesive composition above an ink layer for digital printing, preferably a U.V. ink, deposited on a surface of said planar substrate to define a printing pattern, thereby providing an interface layer between said planar substrate and said covering layer of subsequent application.
MULTILAYER PAINT PROTECTION FILM FOR VEHICLE
Proposed is a paint protection film with excellent self-healing ability, stain resistance, and weather resistance. When being applied to vehicles, damage to the painted surface, such as chipping, scratches, and the like occurring in the middle of driving, can be effectively prevented. In addition, even when exposed to the external environment for a long period of time, the transparency of the film can be maintained. Furthermore, discoloration or stains caused by contaminants can be prevented, thereby maintaining aesthetics.
Pressure sensitive adhesive composition including ultraviolet light-absorbing oligomer
A composition that includes a blend of a pressure sensitive adhesive and an ultraviolet light-absorbing oligomer. The oligomer has a first divalent unit having a pendent ultraviolet absorbing group and a second divalent unit represented by formula in which R.sup.1 is hydrogen or methyl, and R.sup.2 is alkyl having from 4 to 20 carbon atom. Articles including the composition are disclosed. For example, an assembly including a barrier film and the composition is also disclosed. ##STR00001##
BOTH SIDES COATED AUTOMOTIVE PAINT COMPATIBLE LINER FOR STRUCTURAL ADHESIVE FILM
An adhesive film liner comprising (a) a polymeric layer having a first and a second surface, the second surface being opposed to the first surface; (b) a first release layer located on top of the first surface of the polymeric layer, the first release layer comprising at least one polyurethane acrylate oligomer and/or at least one polyurethane methacrylate oligomer; and (c) a second release layer located on top of the second surface layer of the polymeric layer, the second release layer comprising at least one acrylate polymer.
Tack solutions and their use in applying films to substrates
The present invention is directed to tack solutions comprising formic acid, and their use in applying adhesive-coated films to substrates. In particular, paint protection films (PPFs) can be applied to vehicle bodies using the solutions of the present invention.
Paint Film Appliques with Reduced Defects, Articles, and Methods
In-situ polymerized polymer film facilitates improved paint film appliques with reduced defects. The paint film appliques comprise the in-situ polymerized polymer film as a carrier layer. The carrier layer is colored and, preferably defect-free.
