Aqueous flame retardant adhesive composition and method for preparing same
This invention relates to an aqueous flame retardant adhesive composition that is environment-friendly, reduces cost through replacement of organic flame retardant, improves layer separation of adhesive according to the addition of inorganic flame retardant, and exhibits excellent adhesive strength, low temperature stability, processability and extraction resistance, and a method for preparing the same.
SELF-ADHERING ROOFING UNDERLAYMENT
A self-adhering underlayment includes an activator layer on the surface side that is configured to activate and bond with the adhesive when configured in contact with the adhesive layer, such as when overlapped on a roof. The activator layer may be a strip configured proximal an edge of the self-adhering underlayment, such that a second self-adhering underlayment will overlay and contact this activator layer strip when installed on a roof. The activator layer may be configured to chemically react with the adhesive layer to enable adhesion between the layers. The activator layer may comprise a chemical that chemically bonds with the adhesive layer. The activator layer may not be a tacky adhesive and therefor a release liner for the activator layer may not be required.
Crown Molding Gap Concealment Film
A thin concealment film is used to adhere to one side of crown molding, non-adhere to a second piece of molding and conceal the gap between the two pieces of molding. The width of the gap hiding material is sufficient to cover the gap as it widens and shrinks due to humidity, temperature and house settling that currently creates and changes the gap between sections of crown molding. The material can conform to the color, texture, and shape of the crown molding. The material follows the contour of the crown molding even on the non-adhered side of crown molding and across the gap. The gap covering material replaces current temporary solutions like filler caulking and the like that cannot withstand the gap geometry changes. The material may be a single film or lamination with adhesive pre-applied or applied onto one side of the molding at gap-covering material application.
FOAM-BASED TAPE FOR INSULATED PANELS
A foam-based tape that is applied to the underlying structure at a location or locations where adjacent insulated structural sheathing panels or insulated siding panels meet and form a seam between adjacent edges. The tape may be two-sided, i.e., a foam core with both sides comprising an adhesive layer. The tape is applied to the underlying structure, which may be studs, framing, or an underlying structural sheathing layer, by operation of the adhesive on one side, then the liner on the opposite side is removed prior to installation of the overlaying panels. The overlaying panels are installed so that the seam formed between two adjacent edges lies along the foam tape, and is adhesively secured thereto. The foam core allows for sufficient compressibility of the tape to ensure the tape properly bonds to the underlying structural elements and the overlaying panels.
Butene-containing polymer layers for roofing
Butene-containing polymer layers for roofing applications are provided. A roofing material comprises a first layer and an adhesive layer. The first layer comprises a thermoplastic polymer. The first layer comprises 0.01% to 35% by weight of a butene-containing polymer based on a total weight of the first layer. When the roofing material is installed on a roofing substrate, the adhesive layer is located between the first layer and the roofing substrate. Related materials, related systems, and related methods, among other things, are also provided.
Separation sheet and use thereof for providing waterproofed structures
A separation sheet includes a polymeric carrier layer, a first adhesive layer, a second adhesive layer, and optionally a first and a second release liner. A method for producing a separation sheet, a method for waterproofing a substrate, a waterproofed substrate, and a use of the separation sheet for bonding of roof membranes to roof substrates.
WINDOW MATERIAL AND LIGHT-TRANSPARENT ROOF MATERIAL
Provided are: a window material and a light-transparent roof material which can autonomously change the cloudiness thereof in accordance with temperature, have an uncomplicated structure, and can be easily manufactured; a building comprising the window material and/or the light-transparent roof material; and a corresponding vehicle, ship, or aircraft. The window material or the light-transparent roof material according to the present invention comprises at least one light-transparent base material layer and at least one adhesive layer, wherein: the adhesive layer is formed from an adhesive composition containing 1 to 100 parts by mass of polymer fine particles with respect to 100 parts by mass of a thermosensitive adhesive; the refractive index of the thermosensitive adhesive increases as the temperature decreases, with the rate of increase in the refractive index being greater in the vicinity of the melting point of the thermosensitive adhesive than in a temperature range other than the vicinity of the melting point; and the adhesive power of the adhesive composition decreases as the temperature decreases, with the rate of decrease in the adhesive power being greater in the vicinity of the melting point of the thermosensitive adhesive than in the temperature range other than the vicinity of the melting point.
ADHESIVE MASONRY TAPE
An adhesive masonry tape for use in brick laying includes an elongated tape substrate with adhesive properties on one side and a first set of markings designating a joint thickness for mortar placement between bricks. A method for employing the adhesive tape in brick laying is further disclosed that includes laying the adhesive masonry tape on a wall or story pole.
Self-adhesive film having an adhesive-friendly surface and cover layer
The present invention relates to the construction of an adhesive film which is self-adhesive on one side and has an adhesion-friendly surface, to a method for producing a single-sided self-adhesive film of this kind, to a method for applying the single-sided self-adhesive film, more particularly for full-area application to a substrate, e.g., a floor, a wall or a ceiling, and also to the use of the self-adhesive film for application, more particularly full-area application, to a substrate, and for applying an adhesive and/or a leveling compound on the adhesion-friendly surface of the self-adhesive film.
Water vapor permeable ribbed membranes and related systems and related methods
Water vapor permeable ribbed membranes and related methods are provided. A water vapor permeable ribbed membrane has a top surface and a bottom surface opposite the top surface. The water vapor permeable ribbed membrane comprises a plurality of ribs located on at least the bottom surface. An adhesive layer is located on the plurality of ribs.
