BONDING ADHESIVE AND ADHERED ROOFING SYSTEMS PREPARED USING THE SAME
A method is provided for forming an adhered membrane roof system that meets Factory Mutual (FM) 4470/4474 standards for wind uplift. The method comprises applying a bond adhesive to a substrate on a roof to form an adhesive layer and applying a membrane directly to the adhesive layer. The bond adhesive includes a moisture-curable polymer.
Packaging for prefinished articles
Disclosed herein are various embodiments of a protective packaging system suitable for use with a prefinished building article. The protective packaging system generally is designed to reduce shrink back of the flexible substrate after tension is applied. The protective packaging system generally comprises at least one outer layer, at least one core layer and at least one adhesive layer. One or more layers of the protective packaging system may include a roughening agent such that the flexible substrate will not “gloss” or burnish a coating on a prefinished building article. The protective packaging system may also include one or more biocides.
ADHESIVE SHEET AND METHOD FOR APPLYING ADHESIVE SHEET TO ROUGH SURFACE
Adhesive sheets that can adhere to both a smooth surface and a rough surface with sufficient adhesive force and that exhibits smooth visual appearance after adhesion regardless of a surface to be applied are described. In particular, adhesive sheets including a rigid sheet having a thickness of 80 μm or greater and 2 mm or less; and a first pressure-sensitive adhesive layer disposed on one surface of the rigid sheet, the first pressure-sensitive adhesive layer having a thickness of 40 μm or greater and 1.2 mm or less and including a microstructured surface including irregularities are described.
System and method of scanning and aquiring images of an environment
A system and method of scanning an environment and acquiring an image is provided. The system includes a mobile device having a camera and a first position indicator. A scanner having a light emitter and a light receiver is provided. The scanner determining coordinates of surfaces in an environment in response to emitting light with the light emitter and receiving light with the light receiver, the scanner having a second position indicator. One or more processors are provided that determine the position of the mobile computing device and transmits the data between the scanner in response to the first position indicator engaging the second position indicator.
METHOD OF USING AN ADHESIVE ARTICLE FOR GYPSUM BOARD CONSTRUCTION JOINT SYSTEMS
Described herein is a method of using an adhesive article on a gypsum board construction assembly. The gypsum board construction assembly has a first gypsum board unit and a second gypsum board unit defining a space therebetween, the method comprises obtaining the adhesive article, wherein the adhesive article comprises a first major surface and an opposing second major surface, wherein an adhesive is disposed on the first major surface and the opposing second major surface has a surface free energy of at least 29 mN/m, and wherein the adhesive article has an adhesion to gypsum board of at least 45 oz/in (0.49 N/mm); and fixedly attaching the adhesive article via the adhesive to a first and second attachment areas, wherein the first gypsum board unit comprises an outer paper surface and the second gypsum board unit comprises an outer paper surface and the first attachment area is on the outer paper surface of the first gypsum board unit and the second attachment area is on the outer paper surface of the second gypsum board unit, and wherein the portion of the adhesive article disposed over the space is non-porous.
Self-sealing articles including elastic porous layer
There is provided a self-sealing article comprising a polymeric layer disposed on and covering a first major surface of an elastic porous layer, wherein the article passes Modified Test 1 of ASTM D-1970/D-1970M-13 or Modified Test 2 of ASTM D-1970/D-1970M-13, or Modified Test 3 of ASTM D-1970/D-1970M-13, and further wherein the self-sealing article is water vapor permeable and an air and water barrier. There is also provided a linered version of the self-sealing article in which a liner is disposed on a major surface of the polymeric layer opposite the first major surface of the elastic porous layer.
LOCALLY DEACTIVATED RELEASE COATING
The invention relates to a film comprising an optionally multilayer carrier layer; wherein one surface side of the carrier layer has been modified over part of its area either by surface activation or by printing with a print medium, such that the surface side has modified regions and unmodified regions; wherein the modified regions and the unmodified regions are coated over part or all of the area by a release material; and wherein the strength of adhesion of the release material to the carrier layer in the modified regions is different compared to the adhesion of the release material to the carrier layer in the unmodified regions.
MULTILAYERED TAPE WITH REMOVABLE CARRIER LAYER
A multilayer tape is provided. A method of masking a surface is also provided. The multilayer tape includes an inner layer, at least one middle layer, and an outer carrier layer. The inner layer has a pair of parallel adhesive strips demarking an inner gap having a predetermined width. The middle layer is adhered to the inner layer and has a pair of parallel adhesive strips demarking a middle gap narrower than the inner gap. The outer carrier layer is adhered to the middle layer. The method includes applying a multilayer tape system to a surface and removing the outer carrier layer to expose a preselected gap width. The multilayer tape system includes an inner layer, at least one middle layer, and an outer carrier layer.
SEALING TAPE WITH A FUNCTIONAL LAYER
A sealing device has a waterproofing layer, a functional layer, and an adhesive layer coated on and at least partially covering the first major surface of the waterproofing layer opposite the side of the functional layer. Also, a method produces a sealing device, a method waterproofs a substrate, and the use of the sealing device seals lapped joints formed between overlapping portions of waterproofing membranes and patches breaches in waterproofing membranes.
Surface Concealment System
A multi-layered surface indentation concealment system having a body including a medial portion and a flexible peripheral margin extending outward of said medial portion. The body can be disposed to conceal a surface indentation in a surface, whereby the medial portion spans the surface indentation and the flexible peripheral margin secures about the surface indentation by application of a coat composition to the flexible peripheral margin.
