The inventors have discovered hot melt adhesive compositions that can be formulated to have a high percentage of environmentally conscious components and still provide performance over a broad temperature range.

The invention features a hot melt adhesive composition including from 5% by weight to 50% by weight of a thermoplastic polymer, from 10% by weight to 80% by weight of a bio-based tackifying agent, and from 2% by weight to 50% by weight of an environmentally conscious aliphatic plasticizer having a cyclo-aliphatic content of no more than 2% by weight as tested by .sup.1H-NMR Spectroscopy.

A method of preparing thermoplastic polyester elastomer membrane with high binding strength includes the following steps: (a) Adding a reaction solvent to TPEE powder or granules to prepare a solvent mixture. (b) Adding a modifier to the solvent mixture, and mixing uniformly to prepare a first mixture, the modifier including at least one of o-xylylenediamine, m-xylylenediamine, alpha,alpha′-diamino-p-xylene, 2,3,5,6-Tetrachloro-p-xylene-alpha,alpha′-diamine, and 1,3,5,7-Tetraazatricyclodecane. (c) Adding an initiator to the first mixture, and mixing uniformly to prepare a second mixture. (d) Obtaining a finished product by passing the second mixture through an injection laminating process.

An elastic tape or film of a aqueous polyurethane dispersion with solid low melt powder which can be applied to a fabric via transfer printing as well as methods for production of the elastic tape or film, articles of manufacture comprising the elastic tape or film and methods for production of the elastic tape or film are provided.

A glove with gecko-inspired dry adhesives is provided to greatly reduce the required grasp force on heavy, smooth items. The orientation of the gecko adhesives is designed to increase shear forces between the glove and the object when lifting and manipulating. The invention additionally equips the non-gripping surfaces of the glove (e.g. back and sides) with a non-adhesive microstructure that prevents the glove from accidently adhering to surfaces during unintentional contact, even when touching otherwise sticky materials such as adhesive-coated automotive panels.

In an embodiment, a topcoat for a thermo-printable tape with a smooth printable surface includes a polymer blend, a crosslinker, a pigment, and a solvent. In one or more embodiments, the polymer blend includes a polyether polyurethane, a vinyl copolymer, and an epoxy polymer. In one or more embodiments, a thermo-printable tape with a smooth printable surface includes a topcoat layer, a basecoat layer, and a base substrate. In one or more embodiments, a topcoat layer is disposed on the basecoat layer. The basecoat layer is disposed on the base substrate. In one or more embodiments, the base substrate may include a first base layer, a second base layer and a support layer between the first and second base layers. One or more embodiments include a method of forming a thermo-printable tape.

A dry adhesive for attachment to a flexible adherend comprises a shape memory polymer having a glass transition temperature (T.sub.g) above 25° C. and a compliant backing layer attached to the shape memory polymer. The shape memory polymer is configured to form a conformal and/or hermetic contact with a flexible adherend at temperatures at or above the T.sub.g and to retain the conformal and/or hermetic contact during flexing of the flexible adherend at temperatures below the T.sub.g

The disclosure provides multi-functional diazirine adhesives and methods of synthesis and use thereof, for example methods of use for polymer and/or elastomer bonding.

A protective garment is disclosed that is reusable and can be relaundered over 70 times. The garment is made from a single layer barrier fabric. Any seams on the protective fabric are covered with a seam tape. The seam tape can include an adhesive layer, a cover layer, and an optional film layer positioned between the cover layer and the adhesive layer. The adhesive layer can be a crosslinkable polyester polymer.

There is provided adhesive compositions comprising a styrenic block copolymer and at least one tackifier, where the at least one tackifier contains non-carbon hetero-atom functionality, and where the adhesive composition is wash durable when bonded to a substrate. There is also provided articles made using these adhesives.

A conductive adhesive sheet includes a first adhesive agent layer, a second adhesive agent layer, and a third layer interposed between the first adhesive agent layer and the second adhesive agent layer, in which the first adhesive agent layer has a storage modulus at 25 degrees C. of less than 2.5×10.sup.5 Pa, the third layer has a storage modulus at 25 degrees C. of 2.5×10.sup.5 Pa or more, and a plurality of conductive linear bodies are arranged to the first adhesive agent layer.
