FILM, LIQUID PAINT, METHOD FOR PROVIDING A FILM, METHOD FOR PROVIDING A LIQUID PAINT, OPTICAL MOUNT, AND OPTICAL DEVICES
A film for absorbing visible light, including: a substrate, wherein a surface of the substrate is covered with an adhesive coating of polydopamine or a polymerized dopamine derivative.
INCORPORATION OF BORON COMPLEX INTO RESIN
Complexes, compositions, articles of manufacture, and method for making the same are provided herein. In one embodiment, a borate-polyol complex may be prepared by reacting a boron-containing compound and a polyol to form a reaction mixture and then neutralizing the reaction mixture to form a neutralized borate-polyol complex. The neutralized borate-polyol complex may then be used in combination with polymeric resins to form adhesive products, among other material products, which products can be in manufacturing articles.
PRESSURE-SENSITIVE ADHESIVE COMPOSITION
A pressure-sensitive adhesive composition, which may have excellent durability under high temperature or humidity conditions and exhibit high close adhesion to optical films, thereby forming a pressure-sensitive adhesive having superior cuttability and re-workability, is provided. Also, a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition capable of forming a pressure-sensitive adhesive capable of effectively inhibiting bending when applied to a thin substrate such as a very thin glass substrate, minimizing a time required to stabilize physical properties, and preventing a degradation of the secured physical properties in time, a pressure-sensitive adhesive optical member formed using such a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition, an optical laminate, and a display device are provided.
Dissolvable thermal direct adhesive label and methods of assembly and use of the same
A label assembly including one or more dissolvable thermal direct adhesive labels and methods of assembly and use. According to one embodiment, each label includes a base layer, a thermal direct layer, an adhesive layer, and a barrier layer. The base layer, which has an upper surface and a lower surface, is water-dissolvable and may be made of a water-dissolvable paper. The thermal direct layer is positioned directly over the upper surface of the base layer and functions in the conventional manner to produce markings therein in response to heat. The adhesive layer is water-dissolvable and is positioned below the lower surface of the base layer. The barrier layer, which is positioned directly below the lower surface of the base layer and directly over the adhesive layer, serves to prevent migration of the adhesive layer through the base layer and into contact with the thermal direct layer.
Air and water barrier article including inelastic porous layer
The air and water barrier article includes a polymer-coated inelastic porous layer including a water-vapor permeable polymeric coating disposed on at least one major surface of the inelastic porous layer and an adhesive disposed on a major surface of the polymer-coated inelastic porous layer. The inelastic porous layer can include at least one of surface-modified fibers or natural cellulose fibers. The polymer-coated inelastic porous layer can at least one of a water strike through time of not more than 180 seconds or an absorbance capacity of at least one-half gram per 116 square centimeters. The adhesive may be exposed, in contact with a release surface, or adhered to a surface of a building component. A method of applying the air and water barrier article to a surface of a building component is also disclosed.
A METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THERMOPLASTIC POLY(VINYL ALCOHOL) DERIVATIVE IN A MELT STATE REACTION AND PRODUCTS THEREOF
The invention relates to a method for manufacturing thermoplastic poly(vinyl alcohol) derivative in a melt state reaction and a product thereof, wherein the method thermoplastic poly(vinyl alcohol) that has been dried is heated and admixed with an organic acid anhydride that has a catenated carbon structure which ends into a vinyl group, such that a mixture is obtained which is above the melting point of the mixture, thereby causing an ester bond forming condensation reaction in a melt state, wherein at least some of the organic acid anhydride reacts with hydroxyl groups of the thermoplastic poly(vinyl alcohol), such that reaction product is formed which contains carboxylic acid residue and thermoplastic poly(vinyl alcohol) derivative which contains ester bonded pendant chains of which at least some end into vinyl groups. The invention further relates to a method for manufacturing a paper substrate and a product thereof, which contains a primer layer that contains the reaction product.
ADHESIVE-COATED THERMALLY SENSITIVE POLYMER SUBSTRATE, PROCESS FOR ITS MANUFACTURE AND USE THEREOF
The invention relates to an adhesive-coated polymer substrate comprising (a) a polymer substrate containing or consisting of a thermoplastic polymer with a Vicat A50 softening point according to DIN EN ISO 306 of up to 220° C., and (b) an adhesive composition coated directly on at least one side of the polymer substrate, wherein the adhesive composition (b) is a UV-curable or UV-cured hot melt pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA). The invention relates moreover to a process for the manufacture of the adhesive-coated polymer substrate as well as to the use thereof.
DOUBLE-SIDED TISSUE TAPE AND RELATED ARTICLE
The double-sided pressure-sensitive adhesive tape includes a tissue support having a first face and a second face, a first pressure-sensitive adhesive disposed on the first face of the tissue support, and a second pressure-sensitive adhesive disposed on the second face of the tissue support. The first pressure-sensitive adhesive and the second pressure-sensitive adhesive are each crosslinked acrylic-based pressure-sensitive adhesives that are the same or different from each other, and the tissue support is impregnated by the first pressure-sensitive adhesive and the second pressure-sensitive adhesive. The article includes a first substrate and the double-sided pressure-sensitive adhesive tape, in which the first pressure-sensitive adhesive is bonded to a surface of the first substrate.
Skin-adhesive item
A skin-adhesive item is described that can include a substrate F coated continuously or discontinuously on at least one of the two faces thereof by a pressure-sensitive silicone adhesive Z that has been previously sterilized by means of gamma radiation and demonstrates good tack on the skin even after sterilization.
