Self-sealing tires
The present disclosure relates to self-sealing tires, a process for making said self-sealing tires and the use of a silicone composition cured via a condensation cure chemistry to form a self-sealing layer designed to function as both (i) a self-sealing tire puncture material, i.e., to seal puncture holes in the tread region of tires if/when punctured by a foreign body and (ii) as an adhesive for sound-absorbing foams adapted to reduce the noise generated by tires during travel.
BONDING SYSTEM
A water-based adhesive film-forming cover composition including: (i) at least one film forming polymer; (ii) at least one lower crystallinity first polynitroso compound; (iii) at least one higher crystallinity second polynitroso compound; (iv) at least one crosslinking agent; and (v) water as a carrier liquid; a bonding system including a combination of: (a) a water-based primer component; and (b) the above water-based cover component; a process for manufacturing the above bonding system; and a process of manufacturing a bonded article with the above bonding system. A bonded article, having a bonding line made from the above bonding system disposed between metal and rubber substrates, exhibits excellent stability against an aqueous urea-solution at temperatures of up to about 95? C.
Process for Cold Bonding Rubber on Metal Substrates
The present invention relates to a process for cold bonding elastomeric rubber substrates to non-elastomeric substrates of a different material, preferably metal, by use of a rubber treatment, preferably a primer composition and a 2k adhesive, preferably a 2k epoxy adhesive as well as the thus obtained bonded substrates.
METHOD FOR INCREASING THE ADHESION BETWEEN THE FIRST SURFACE OF A FIRST WEB-SHAPED MATERIAL AND A FIRST SURFACE OF A SECOND WEB-SHAPED MATERIAL
A method for increasing the adhesion between the first surface of a first web-shaped material and a first surface of a second web-shaped material, the first web-shaped material and the second web-shaped material being fed continuously and with the same web direction to a laminating gap, in which the first web-shaped material and the second web-shaped material are laminated together by means of the first surfaces thereof, the two first surfaces being treated with a single plasma simultaneously and preferably over the entire area, the laminating gap being formed by a pressing element and a counter-pressure device, which builds up a counter pressure, and preferably at least one of the lateral surfaces of the pressing element and of the counter-pressure device or both being equipped with a dielectric, characterized in that none of the two first surfaces/web-shaped materials are guided through the discharge zone of the plasma-generating device.
Adhesion-improving composition for textile material and associated reinforcing textile material
The invention relates to a textile bonding composition comprising a salt of lignosulfonate, an aldehyde hardener thereof, and an elastomer latex. The lignosulfonate salt may be sodium, potassium, magnesium, ammonium, or calcium lignosulfonate. The invention also relates to the use of such a composition for imparting adhesion properties to a reinforcement textile, with regard to a rubber, a reinforcement textile, in particular yarn, cord or textile structure, at least partially coated and/or impregnated with this composition, and a part made of rubber or comprising a rubber, in which the rubber comprises at least one reinforcement textile, on the surface and/or integrated inside the rubber.
COLD BONDING ADHESIVES FOR BONDING VULCANIZED RUBBER COMPOUNDS FOR INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS
One-part (1K) and two-part (2K) cold bonding adhesive compositions for bonding vulcanized rubber compounds are described. The compositions can be used to bond vulcanized elastomers, such as chloroprene and buffed natural rubber, to themselves or to metal. The compositions can be free of hazardous chemicals often used in cold bonding adhesives, such as monomeric isocyanates and/or trichloroethylene or other chlorinated solvents. The adhesives also offer easy application and long pot life.
