The adhesive composition comprises a copolymer; the adhesive composition has a viscosity of from about 2,000 mPa.Math.s to about 11,500 mPa.Math.s at 150 C., the adhesive composition has a Storage Modulus at 37 C. of from about 3 MPa to 9.5 MPa, and the adhesive composition has a Yield Stress at 37 C. of from about 0.8 MPa to about 1.45 MPa.

The present invention is related to an article comprising a substrate, having at least one propylene terpolymer comprising propylene derived units, one or more dienes, and an alpha-olefin content of less than about 35 wt % of the propylene terpolymer; and an adhesive composition, having about 20 to about 80 wt % of a polymer blend comprising a first propylene-based polymer, that is a homopolymer of propylene or a copolymer of propylene and ethylene or a C.sub.4 to C.sub.10 alpha-olefin, and a second propylene-based polymer, that is a homopolymer of propylene or a copolymer of propylene and ethylene or a C.sub.4 to C.sub.10 alpha-olefin; wherein the second propylene-based polymer is different than the first propylene-based polymer; and wherein the adhesive composition is applied to the substrate at temperature of less than about 150 C.

Shrinkable Thermoplastic Vulcanizate and Method and Article

A process of heat shrinking an article is provided. The process includes shaping a thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV) into an article, the TPV having: a partially vulcanized rubber dispersed in a continuous thermoplastic phase, wherein more than 5 wt % of the rubber is extractable in boiling xylene, and wherein the thermoplastic phase comprises a thermoplastic resin having a Tm>110 C. and a propylene-based elastomer (PBE) having a Tm<110 C.; and heating the article to a temperature between about 100 C. and 250 C. to shrink the article.

HOT MELT ADHESIVE COMPOSITION AND LAMINATE

Provided is a hot-melt adhesive composition improving workability and productivity, and having excellent adhesion to olefin substrates, such as polypropylene, and also excellent adhesion to highly polar substrates, such as PVC and PET, and further having excellent mechanical properties. Provided is a hot-melt adhesive composition comprising an acid-modified polyolefin and a copolymerized polyester, and satisfying the following (1) to (5): (1) the copolymerized polyester comprises a dicarboxylic acid component and a glycol component, and has a melting point (T1), as determined by a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), in the range of 80 to 150? C.; (2) the acid-modified polyolefin has a melting point (T2), as determined by a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), in the range of 60 to 150? C.; (3) |T1?T2|?40? C.; (4) when an acid value of the acid-modified polyolefin is defined as AV (eq/ton), and a hydroxy value of the copolymerized polyester is defined as OHV (eq/ton), 0.5?AV/OHV?4.5; and (5) the acid-modified polyolefin is contained in an amount of 5 to 40 mass %, and the copolymerized polyester is contained in an amount of 60 to 95 mass %, based on 100 mass % of the total of the acid-modified polyolefin and the copolymerized polyester, and the total amount of the acid-modified polyolefin and the copolymerized polyester is 70 mass % or more based on 100 mass % of the total of the entire hot-melt adhesive composition.

The invention includes a hot melt adhesive composition including a single-site catalyzed propylene-based polymer that has a co-monomer content of from 0% by weight to 20% by weight and a Brookfield Viscosity at 190 C. of no greater than 25,000; and a non-hydrogenated C5 tackifying agent having a softening point of from 98 C. to around 130 C. The adhesive composition has been found to give a good balance of static peel strength and dynamic peel strength when used as a construction adhesive in a disposable absorbent article.
