COMPOSITIONS AND FILMS COMPRISING POLYLACTIC ACID POLYMER, POLYVINYL ACETATE POLYMER AND PLASTICIZER
A composition is described comprising semicrystalline polylactic acid polymer; polyvinyl acetate polymer having a glass transition temperature (Tg) of at least 25 C.; plasticizer; and optionally amorphous polylactic acid polymer. In another embodiment the composition further comprises nucleating agent. Also described are films comprising the composition as well as articles, such as a tape or sheet, comprising the film described herein and a layer of pressure sensitive adhesive disposed on the film.

Interlayer and laminate with controlled debonding zone treatments with enhanced performance
The present invention relates to a laminate structure comprising an adhesive polymeric interlayer (API) that comprises discrete zones. Such discrete zones are located at the interface of the API and the glass substrate. Generally, the discrete zones comprise two sets of discrete zones, debonding and adhesive. These zones allow for a unique combination of modified API-glass debonding, laminate toughness, and laminate durability. Various spatial patterns and densities of debonding are described, as well as the resulting material properties.
FILM CONSTRUCTIONS AND ARTICLES
Film constructions and articles including the film constructions, wherein a film construction includes: a backing having a first major surface and a second major surface, wherein the backing includes at least one backing layer comprising a polylactic acid and an ethylene-containing copolymer comprising a polar comonomer; a tie layer disposed on the first major surface of the backing; and a release layer disposed on the tie layer.
Method for pre-applied waterproofing
Disclosed is a waterproofing membrane that comprises a carrier sheet, a pressure sensitive adhesive layer on one surface of the carrier sheet, and a protective coating layer on the adhesive layer. The protective coating layer comprises polyvinyl acetate (PVAc). The protective coating layer protects the membrane against weather exposure, tolerates foot traffic and strongly adheres to concrete cast against it.
Silicone-coated release film with a special vacuum deep drawing capability
Siliconized release film for the production of polymer moldings from fiber composites using a mold, which comprises a support film which is capable of vacuum deep drawing at room temperature and a coating which can be applied in liquid form and consists, optionally after removal of any solvent, of more than 90 atom % of silicon, carbon and/or oxygen, more than 45 atom % of carbon and more than 20 atom % of silicon, in each case based on the total coating and measured by XPS, characterized in that the coating has been crosslinked by means of condensation reactions, addition reactions or radiation.
Aqueous-based release coating compositions
Aqueous-based release coating compositions are disclosed. The disclosed aqueous-based release coating compositions are particularly suitable for use with pressure sensitive adhesives. In some embodiments, the aqueous-based release coating compositions include (A) a vinyl-based emulsion copolymer comprising a copolymerizable acid monomer, (B) a silicone-based emulsion comprising a mixture of amine-, polyol-functional siloxane and epoxy-, glycol-functional siloxane, and (C) a polymeric dispersant comprising an acid functional group. In some embodiments, the weight ratio of silicone-based emulsion (B) to polymeric dispersant (C) in the aqueous-based release coating compositions is from 2:1 to 3:1. The disclosed release coating compositions are suitable for use in, inter alia, tape applications.
Compositions and processes for providing release coatings
An aqueous composition that can be used to provide a release release properties to adhesive tape substrates can be applied at coating weights far less than those required in previously available compositions containing the same or similar release polymers. Inclusion of small amounts of a superwetter results in improved coatability and reduced amounts of sound generated during the process of releasing an adhesive tape from its roll.
Masking film with improved adhesion stability
A masking film includes an adhesion layer that includes at least one hydrogenated styrene block copolymer and an adhesive surface having a surface roughness (Sa) of greater than about 2.0 m. An Adhesion Build Value of the masking film is less than about 2.0 after the adhesion layer has been attached to a textured polycarbonate substrate and heated to 85 C. for 30 minutes.
