Water based primer composition for bonding glass into a structure
The present invention is directed to a unique composition and method for promoting adhesion of substrates to adhesives. The solution comprises a water based primer composition comprising: a) a hydrosylate of one or more alkoxysilyl amine; b) a surfactant; c) an organotitanate, organozirconate, or combinations thereof; d) optionally a fluorescing compound; and e) water. Preferably the organotitanate or organozirconate correspond to formula (I): wherein M is titanium or zirconium and R.sup.8 comprises hydrocarbyl ligands, which may optionally contain one or more heteroatoms comprising oxygen, nitrogen, sulfur or phosphorus, optionally two or more of R.sup.8 may combine to form a cyclic ring structure. Preferably the composition and method of the invention can be used to bond glass or plastic coated with an abrasion resistant coating, in particular a window for a vehicle, to other substrates such as metal or plastics.

Adhesive article including primer layer and method of making the same
Adhesive articles that include a substrate, a silicone polyoxamide-containing primer layer, and a silicone adhesive are disclosed. Methods of making the adhesive articles and the use of a silicone polyoxamide as a primer for improving adhesion between a substrate and a silicone adhesive are also disclosed.
SELF ADHESIVE FOULING RELEASE COATING COMPOSITION
A multilayer self-adhesive fouling release coating composition includes an optional removable underlying liner; an adhesive layer applied over and to the optional underlying liner when the latter is present; and a synthetic material layer applied over and to the adhesive layer. Optionally, an intermediate silicone tie coat is applied over and to the synthetic material layer. A silicone fouling release top coat is applied over and to the synthetic material layer, or, when present, over and to the intermediate silicone tie coat. Optionally, a removable polymeric film is applied over and to the fouling release top coat.
Release film for pressure-sensitive silicone adhesive and production method therefor
A release film for pressure-sensitive silicone adhesives which comprises: any of various bases; a primer layer (first layer) disposed on at least one surface of the base, the primer layer having a specific thickness and comprising as a main component an organosilicon compound having a plurality of silanol groups in the molecule; and a release layer (second layer) disposed on the outer surface of the primer layer, the release layer having a specific thickness and comprising as a main component a cured object obtained from a hydrolyzable fluorinated compound. A release coating film having excellent releasing properties can be stably and easily imparted to various bases, and the primer layer and the release layer can be formed even by room-temperature (25 C.) application.
PRIMER SILICONE COMPOSITION AND TREATED PAPER OR FILM FOR RELEASE PAPER OR FILM
A silicone primer is provided comprising an adhesion-providing component which is an alkenyl-containing siloxane of specific structure and/or a compound containing a substituent group having a functional group capable of radical reaction upon exposure to heat and/or UV and a substituent group having a group capable of reaction with alkenyl and/or SiH group. A release paper or film is prepared by coating the silicone primer on a paper or plastic film substrate, exposing it to UV to form a primer layer, overlaying the primed surface with a release silicone composition, and curing the composition.
Adhesive primers and articles including the same
Provided are adhesive articles that include a silicone adhesive and a substrate, with a primer layer interposed between the silicone adhesive and the substrate. The primer layer includes a polymer having a polyorganosiloxane pendant group P represented by the formula (I) where each R.sup.1 is independently an alkyl, haloalkyl, arylalkyl, alkenyl, aryl, or aryl substituted with an alkyl, alkoxy, or halo; R2 is an alkyl or an alkenyl group; R3 is an alkylene or an arylalkylene group; and n is an integer in the range of 1 to 20. The primer layer typically improves the adhesion between the silicone adhesive and a wide variety of substrates. ##STR00001##

The adhesive tape includes a primer coating layer interposed between a first adhesive layer and a second adhesive layer, and the first adhesive layer is a silicone adhesive layer.
