Borehole Fluid Gel Strength Measurement
A method and systems for performing a borehole operation with a borehole fluid that includes applying an amplitude oscillation deformation force to a sample of the borehole fluid over a period of time, measuring the deformation force from the sample, determining a storage modulus of the borehole fluid over the period of time based on the measured deformation force, determining a gel strength of the borehole fluid by correlation with the storage modulus, comparing the gel strength with a desired gel strength and if the gel strength is outside of an acceptable range of the desired gel strength, adjusting a drilling parameter, a composition of the borehole fluid, or a combination thereof, and using the borehole fluid in the borehole operation. Determining the storage modulus and the gel strength may be done using a processor and the force may be applied using a piezoelectric device.

Modified asphalt particles and preparation method and use thereof
Modified asphalt particles contain asphalt and a modifier. The modifier comprises poly-sulfur and free sulfur. The sulfur element accounts for 10-40 weight percent of the total amount of the modified asphalt particles, and the poly-sulfur accounts for 30-70 weight percent of the total amount of the sulfur element. The total particle size of the modified asphalt particle is smaller than or equal to 150 m. The modified asphalt particles have an excellent high temperature performance, and can be used for preparing drilling fluids. Water-in-oil based drilling fluid obtained from the modified asphalt particles has low plastic viscosity, high dynamic shear force, high dynamic plastic ratio, and high emulsion-breaking voltage, and improves the high temperature resistance and cutting carrying capability of a system.

Oil well cement composite permeation enhancement agent suitable for hydrate layer and preparation method
An oil well cement composite permeation enhancement agent suitable for a hydrate layer and a preparation method thereof are disclosed. In parts by weight, the composition of raw materials of the composite permeation enhancement agent is 4.6 parts-5.0 parts of kerosene, 0.23 parts-0.25 parts of emulsifier, 0.8 parts-1.1 parts of modified polypropylene fiber, 10.0 parts-12.0 parts of porous and permeable microspheres, 1.0 part-1.2 parts of paraffin, and 57.5 parts-62.5 parts of water. The composite permeation enhancement agent can effectively improve the permeability of the cement stone which reshapes the formation framework and increase the mining rate of hydrate. The oil well cement composite permeation enhancement agent has the advantages of long-term performance, low cost, and green environmental protection. The composite permeation enhancement agent of the present invention does not need secondary treatment to increase permeation, the operation is convenient and fast, and the working time of holding pressure is reduced.

METHOD AND MODEL FOR WELLBORE STRENGTHENING BY FILTERCAKE
Methods for drilling a wellbore into a subterranean formation include preparing a drilling fluid and circulating the drilling fluid in the wellbore while drilling in the subterranean formation, forming a filtercake from the drilling fluid, creating or encountering one or more fractures in the subterranean formation while drilling, and allowing a portion of the filtercake formed to at least partially seal the one or more fractures while continuing the drilling.
METHOD OF CONTROLLING SALINITY OF AN INJECTION WATER DURING COMMISSIONING OF AN INJECTION WELL
An integrated system includes a desalination plant including a reverse osmosis (RO) array to produce an RO permeate blending stream and a nanofiltration (NF) array to produce an NF permeate blending stream. The integrated system also includes a blending system, a control unit, and an injection system for an injection well that penetrates an oil-bearing layer of a reservoir. The blending system is to blend the RO permeate blending stream and the NF permeate blending stream to produce a blended injection water stream. The control unit is to dynamically alter operation of the blending system to adjust amounts of at least one of the RO permeate blending stream and the NF permeate blending stream to alter the composition of the blended injection water stream from an initial composition to a target composition.
