Method of Biopolymer Soil Additive
Provided is a method of bio polymer soil additive used in both lawns, landscaping, agriculture and horticulture plant, vegetable, fruit growing operations.
This bio polymer soil additive contains a blend of zeolite organic mineral compounds and a bio-polymer compound with ion exchange, anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties to enhance plant growth and prevent plant disease.
This soil additive is used in landscaping, agricultural field and horticultural greenhouse operations to enhance plant, vegetable, and fruit production yield while reducing cost of fertilizer usage and the damaging effects of soil eutrophication on the environment.
Mud acid composition and methods of using such
An inhibited mud acid composition, said composition comprising: hydrofluoric acid in solution; an alkanolamine; and a mineral acid selected from a group consisting of: HCl; MEA-HCl and other modified acids, wherein said alkanolamine and hydrofluoric acid are present in a molar ratio of at least 1:1.
BIOCHARS, BIOCHAR EXTRACTS AND BIOCHAR EXTRACTS HAVING SOLUBLE SIGNALING COMPOUNDS AND METHOD FOR CAPTURING MATERIAL EXTRACTED FROM BIOCHAR
A method for capturing material extracted from biochar is provided comprising the steps of: (i) providing a biochar; (ii) contacting the biochar with an extraction media, where the extraction media causes the removal of residual compounds from the pores and surface of the biochar, creating a resulting extract comprised of the extraction media and removed compounds; and (iii) collecting the resulting extract. The method also can include other steps of extraction and purification. The method further comprises the step of applying the resulting extract to seeds, plants, soil, other agricultural products, or for use in other applications. A biochar having high levels of soluble signaling compounds is also provided, where the biochar is derived from a biomass source that together with predefined pyrolysis parameters produces resulting biochar having increased levels of soluble signaling compounds that are known to increase seed germination rates and early plant growth. Such soluble signaling compounds can then be collected in a biochar extract by contacting the biochar with an extraction media.
Flow barrier to prevent infiltration of wastewater from wastewater disposal ponds
A flow barrier for wastewater disposal ponds or pits used in oil and gas operations. The flow barrier includes a flake component, a fiber component, and a granular component. The disposal pond flow barrier may prevent the infiltration or leakage of aqueous fluids from the wastewater disposal ponds into the surrounding environment and ecosystems. A process for manufacturing and using the flow barrier in a wastewater disposal pond is also provided.
PELLETIZED BASALT FOR USE AS A SOIL AMENDMENT
A composition including at least about 50 wt% basalt and no more than about 20 wt% binding agent, wherein the composition is in the form of a plurality of particles. The composition can find applications in agriculture, horticulture, and gardening, and can be used, e.g., as soil amendment.
METHOD OF REDUCING THE SWELLING CAPACITY OF CLAY-CONTAINING SOIL
A method and composition for reducing the swelling capacity of clay-containing soil, thus lowering volume change in soil, and thus enhancing the stability of soil, particularly expansive clay soil, in order that it is sufficiently stable, such that roads, pavements and some types of buildings and other structures can be securely constructed thereon. The method also minimizes any swelling and/or shrinkage in the soil under any such structures due to the movement of moisture in the soil, and thus minimizes damage and deterioration caused to such structures due to the presence of too much, or too little, water in the soil thereunder.
Biochar Suspended Solution
A method is provided for producing a biochar solution. The method comprises the steps of collecting biochar particles, dispersing the biochar particles in a liquid solution and adding a stabilizing agent to keep the biochar in flowable suspension. The stabilizing agent may be added to the liquid solution or to the biochar prior to placing the biochar in solution.
Biosolid storage and dispersal
A particle is provided that includes 5 wt % to 90 wt % of agricultural biomass, combustion residues, biosolids, or a combination thereof. A binder intermixed with the agricultural biomass, combustion residues, biosolids, or a combination thereof retains the mixture in the form of a particle. The resultant particle creates a use for existing waste streams while also improving soil quality. A process of stabilizing agricultural biomass, combustion residues, biosolids, or a combination thereof particles is also provided that includes combining agricultural biomass, combustion residues, biosolids, or a combination thereof with mineral and/or synthetic chemical fragments having a bulk density of greater than about 40 pounds per cubic foot and a sizing of about 100% passing through a 30 mesh screen and about 50% or more passing through a 200 mesh screen. By adding binder, a particle is formed that is deodorized and/or stabilized. Through the choice of binder, the particle can be rendered dispersible to rapidly disintegrate into soil.
