The date palm seed LCM may have a D50 shift factor less than an LCM formed from calcium carbonate and may have a D50 shift factor of at least 0.38%. The date palm seed LCM may have a stability index of at least 0.95. Methods of lost circulation control and manufacture of a date palm seed LCM are also provided.

MULTI-SLUG STAGED PLUGGING METHOD APPLICABLE TO FRACTURED FORMATION

A multi-slug staged plugging method applicable to a fractured formation includes the following steps: 1), determining an average opening of fractures around a well as D, performing first-stage plugging by using bridging particles having a particle size being slightly smaller than D and an average particle size represented as D.sub.1, and determining a particle size of each of the following stages of plugging particles sequentially to form a tight plugging layer; 2), injecting plugging slurry only containing bridging particles having an average particle size of D.sub.1 through slugs first to form a bridging particle layer; 3), injecting plugging slurry containing plugging particles having an average particle size of D.sub.2D.sub.n-1 in several times through a plurality of slugs to form a particle filling layer; and 4), finally injecting plugging slurry containing plugging particles having an average particle size of D.sub.n through the slugs to form a tight plugging layer.

Methods for cementing well bores using cleaning fluids with nut shells

Liners may be cemented in a well bore contaminated with an oil-based or synthetic fluid by injecting an aqueous cleaning fluid into the well, energizing the cleaning fluid to displace fluids present in an annulus between the liner and the bore and to create turbulent flow of the cleaning fluid in the annulus, and injecting a cementitious slurry into the annulus after the cleaning fluid. The cleaning fluid comprises a weighting agent, a suspending agent, a surfactant, and nut shell particulates. The turbulent flow of the cleaning fluid through the annulus is effective to remove oily residues left by the oil-based or synthetic fluid.

The LCM include a mix of 30% by weight date tree trunk fibers and 70% date tree leaf and leaf stem fibers, 40% by weight date tree trunk fibers and 60% date tree leaf and leaf stem fibers, 50% by weight date tree trunk fibers and 50% date tree leaf and leaf stem fibers. Methods of lost circulation control using and manufacture of a date tree fiber mix LCM are also provided.

Methods for dispersing proppant

Methods for propping a fracture. The method comprises providing a treatment fluid comprising a polyester, a water-miscible solvent, and a proppant and then pumping the treatment fluid through an aqueous fluid within a wellbore to form an amorphous polymeric web. The method further comprises pumping the amorphous polymeric web into a fracture within a subterranean formation and then allowing the amorphous polymeric web to dissolve.
