Biocide composition and use thereof
The present disclosure relates to biocide compositions, formulations and methods for using formulations. In particular the present disclosure relates to biocide compositions and their use in effecting biocidal activity in subterranean oil and gas wells being drilled, completed, worked over or produced.
Increasing scavenging efficiency of H.SUB.2.S scavenger by adding linear polymer
A method is disclosed that includes introducing a scavenger composition into a fluid stream contaminated with a sulfur contaminant such that the scavenger composition reacts with the sulfur contaminant to reduce an amount of the sulfur contaminant in the fluid stream, wherein the scavenger composition includes a hydrogen sulfide scavenger and an anionic linear polymer. A composition is disclosed that includes a hydrogen sulfide scavenger; and an anionic linear polymer.
Testing H.SUB.2.S scavengers' polymerization factors
Scavenging chemicals used in mitigation treatments of hydrogen sulfide in hydrocarbon streams often continue to react and form polymers that foul the processing system. Disclosed herein are methods for determining if a scavenging chemical mitigator, or its reaction or degradation product, will polymerized during or after mitigation treatments. This information allows for the optimization of mitigation treatments that pre-emptively control or prevent polymer formation. Such pre-emption measures reduce the cost and time related to remedial actions to treat polymer-fouled equipment.
NANOEMULSIONS FOR USE IN SUBTERRANEAN FRACTURING TREATMENTS
Methods for delivering treatment chemicals into a subterranean formation using treatment fluids that include nanoemulsions are provided. In some embodiments, the methods include providing a treatment fluid including an aqueous base fluid and a nanoemulsion including a water-soluble internal phase, a water-soluble external phase, and a surfactant, the nanoemulsion being formed by mechanically-induced shear rupturing; and introducing the treatment fluid into at least a portion of a subterranean formation at or above a pressure sufficient to create or enhance at least one fracture in the subterranean formation.
CHEMICAL COMPOSITIONS AND IN-SITU METHODS OF USING SAME FOR REMEDIATING SULFUR-CONTAINING COMPOSITIONS AND OTHER CONTAMINANTS IN FLUIDS BEING EXTRACTED FROM THE EARTH
A treatment method for remediating various contaminants including H.sub.2S, CO.sub.2, NH.sub.3 and other contaminants contained in fluids being extracted from the earth comprises steps of: preparing an aqueous based treatment composition containing water and collectively 35-55 weight percent of one or more hydroxide compounds; injecting a dosage amount of the treatment composition into contaminated fluids located in a subterranean deposit under the earth's surface such that the treatment composition mixes with the fluids deep under the earth's surface; and extracting a mixture of the contaminated fluids and the treatment composition through a well such that the treatment compositions remediates contaminants in the fluids as the mixture passes through the well to the earth's surface, wherein a dosage amount of the treatment composition may be 0.010 to 10.0 ml of the aqueous based treatment composition/liter of the contaminated fluids being extracted from the subterranean deposit.
Vegetable oil invert emulsion hydrogen sulfide mitigating drilling fluid and method of drilling subterranean geological formation
A method of drilling a subterranean geological formation is described. The method includes driving a drill bit to form a wellbore into the subterranean geological formation thereby producing a formation fluid including hydrogen sulfide (H.sub.2S). The method includes injecting a drilling fluid into the subterranean geological formation through the wellbore. The drilling fluid composition includes 0.25 to 2 wt. % of a primary H.sub.2S scavenger, which is potassium permanganate, and an invert emulsion, which includes a continuous phase including a vegetable oil which is at least one selected from the group consisting of corn oil, soybean oil, rapeseed oil, canola oil, sunflower oil, safflower oil, peanut oil, and cottonseed oil and a dispersive phase including water. The potassium permanganate present in the drilling fluid composition reacts with the H.sub.2S present in the formation fluid to produce a dispersion of manganese-containing particles which are at least one selected from the group consisting of manganese sulfide and manganese sulfate.
Amorphous Dithiazine Dissolution Formulation and Method for Using the Same
Amorphous Dithiazine Dissolution Formulation and Method for using the Same The invention relates a use of an aqueous composition comprising at least one organic peroxide to dissolve amorphous dithiazine.
METHODS OF TREATING PARAFFINS, IRON SULFIDE, HYDROGEN SULFIDE, AND/OR BACTERIA
