NANOEMULSIONS FOR USE IN SUBTERRANEAN FRACTURING TREATMENTS
Methods for delivering treatment chemicals into a subterranean formation using treatment fluids that include nanoemulsions are provided. In some embodiments, the methods include providing a treatment fluid including an aqueous base fluid and a nanoemulsion including a water-soluble internal phase, a water-soluble external phase, and a surfactant, the nanoemulsion being formed by mechanically-induced shear rupturing; and introducing the treatment fluid into at least a portion of a subterranean formation at or above a pressure sufficient to create or enhance at least one fracture in the subterranean formation.
Process of fracturing subterranean formations
Process of fracturing subterranean, oil-and/or gas-bearing formations by injecting an aqueous fracturing fluid into a wellbore at a rate and pressure sufficient to penetrate into the formation, and to initiate or extend fractures in the formation, wherein the aqueous fracturing fluid is obtained by mixing at least an aqueous base fluid and an aqueous polyacrylamide concentrate having a concentration of 3.1 to 14.9% by weight of polyacrylamides, relating to the total of all components of the aqueous polyacrylamide concentrate, and wherein at least a part of the aqueous fracturing fluid injected additionally comprises a proppant.

Systems and methods for controlling geysering in mining operations.
Solid drag reduction additive and method of using same
Methods of reducing drag in a flowing hydrocarbon include introducing to the flowing hydrocarbon an amount of a solid drag reducing additive effective to improve the flow, the solid drag reducing additive including a polymer particle prepared from at least one polar monomer and a percent by weight (wt %) of liquid of 50 wt % or less. Methods also include producing a solid drag reducing additive that includes forming a polymer from at least one polar monomer by emulsion polymerization; and disrupting the emulsion by adding at least one demulsifier and at least one anti-blocking agent to form the solid drag reducing additive. Compositions include a solid drag reducing additive comprising a polymer prepared from at least one polar monomer and having an average particle size in a range of about 100 μm to about 500 μm, wherein the solid drag reducing additive comprises less than 50 wt % of liquid.
Solid scale inhibitor
A scale inhibitor includes an amount of hydroxyethylidene diphosphonic acid (HEDP), and an amount of hydroxyapatite. The amounts are combined to form a composition that is long lasting, high activity and completely dissolvable. The composition has a preferred particle size of less than 200 nm. Dicalcium phosphate, tricalcium phosphate, bone and/or bone ash may be used in place of hydroxyapatite.
Enhanced friction reducers for water-based fracturing fluids
A fracturing fluid can include: a base fluid, wherein the base fluid comprises water; proppant; a friction reducer; and a friction reducer enhancer, wherein the friction reducer enhancer is a surfactant. The friction reducer enhancer can be in a concentration greater than or equal to a critical micelle concentration. Methods of fracturing a subterranean formation can include introducing the fracturing fluid into the subterranean formation. The friction reducer enhancer can increase the hydration rate of the friction reducer, whereby friction reduction of the fracturing fluid can occur much faster than without the friction reducer enhancer.
FRAC FLUIDS FOR FAR FIELD DIVERSION
Aqueous well treatment fluids especially suited for use in far field diversion in low viscosity carrier fluids comprise water, a friction reducer, and a diverter. The diverter comprises dissolvable particulates and proppants. The dissolvable particulates have a specific gravity of from about 0.9 to about 1.6 and a particle size of about 50 mesh or less. The proppants have a specific gravity of from about 0.9 to about 1.4 and a particle size of from about 20 to about 100 mesh. The dissolvable particulates have a higher specific gravity and a smaller particle size than the proppant.
LIQUID CHLORIDE SALT-BASED POLYMER SUSPENSION FLUIDS WITH POLYETHYLENE GLYCOL DISPERSANTS AND APPLICATION TO DRAG REDUCTION
Aqueous suspensions are presented that are stable against settling without additional mixing in which the suspensions comprise a water soluble polymer that is anionic or non-ionic comprising a blend of water with at least about 32 weight percent chloride salt with a counter ion A.sup.+a with 2≤a, from about 1 wt % to about 10 wt % particulate polyethylene glycol having an average molecular weight from about 1600 g/mol to about 50,000 g/mol, and from about 10 wt % to about 50 wt % of the water soluble polymer that is not a poly ether. The suspension has chlorides in a sufficient amount to inhibit hydration of the suspended water soluble polymer and the particulate polyethylene glycol. The aqueous suspension can be formed by adding a powder of polyethylene glycol to a high salt solution and then adding the high molecular weight polymer. The aqueous suspensions can be useful as friction reducing agents in flowing liquids, such as for hydraulic fracture.
