Disclosed are inhibitor/cleaner compositions comprising alkyldiphenyloxide disulfonates, and methods of inhibiting corrosion of and removing schmoo from metal containments in contact with corrosive water sources. Also disclosed are metal containment assemblages comprising inhibitor/cleaner compositions and metal containment therefore. The alkyldiphenyloxide disulfonates are soluble or substantially soluble in the water sources and inhibit corrosion of the metal containments by the water sources containing corrodents. The alkyldiphenyloxide disulfonates also remove schmoo from the metal containments. The inhibitor/cleaners of the invention are useful for addition to produced waters and other corrosive water sources resulting from enhanced oil recovery operations. The inhibitor/cleaners inhibit corrosion of tanks, devices, and other metal containments such as carbon steel pipes which come into contact with produced waters from the oil recovery operations, while also providing schmoo reduction and removal from the metal containments. The inhibitor cleaners are also useful for addition to other corrosive aqueous fluids to inhibit corrosion of metal containments with which the aqueous fluids come into contact, such as corrosive aqueous discharge from mines and other industrial operations such as paper-making.

HYDROCARBON RECOVERY COMPOSITION AND A METHOD FOR USE THEREOF
20170327730 · 2017-11-16 ·

The invention relates to a hydrocarbon recovery composition comprising one or more internal olefin sulfonates and/or one or more alkoxylated alcohols and/or alkoxylated alcohol derivatives and a method of recovering hydrocarbons from a hydrocarbon formation comprising feeding a hydrocarbon recovery composition into the formation, allowing the hydrocarbon recovery composition to contact the formation for a period of time, and withdrawing a mixture of the hydrocarbon recovery composition and hydrocarbons from the formation.

Methods for reducing scale deposition are provided. An exemplary method for reducing scale in an oilfield facility includes contacting a metallic surface with a production fluid including a film-forming surfactant selected from imidazolines, imidazolidines, amidoamines, isoxazolidines, fatty amines, α,β-unsaturated aldehydes, salts thereof, and combinations thereof, the production fluid including the film-forming surfactant in a concentration of at least about 200 ppm.

Systems and methods for treating fluids in oilfield facilities

Treatment chemicals (for example, scale inhibition chemicals) can be applied to fluids in a pipeline by diverting a side stream of the produced water from a pipeline into a vessel containing a solid material to release of an active fluid treatment agent from the solid material into the diverted produced water; merging the diverted produced fluid containing the active fluid treatment agent into the pipeline; and adjusting a flow rate of the diverted side stream of the produced water to change a level of the active fluid treatment agent in the flow of produced water in the pipeline. Treatment systems can include a pipeline, a vessel containing a solid treatment material; a bypass line providing a fluid connection between the pipeline and an inlet of the vessel; and a return line providing a fluid connection between an outlet of the vessel and the pipeline.

Method of selectively treating a bottom hole region of a formation for intensifying oil production

A method of treating a bottom hole region of a formation (BRF) with an estimated frequency for performing the stages, wherein the second and each stage is carried out when the factor and/or the daily crude oil flow rate of a well has decreased by 25% or more over the preceding 6 months of well operation. In the first and second stages, the BRF is treated with an emulsion system containing silicon dioxide nanoparticles, an acid composition, and an aqueous solution of potassium or calcium chloride. In the third stages, the BRF is treated with an emulsion system containing silicon dioxide nanoparticles, a composition of surfactants and alcohols, and an aqueous solution of potassium chloride or calcium chloride. The thermal stability of the emulsion system, increase the rate of development of an oil and gas bearing layer, increase the duration of a positive effect and enhance oil production.

Methods for inhibiting scale formation in a hydrocarbon well

Methods for inhibiting scale formation in a hydrocarbon well that includes a wellbore that extends within a subterranean formation and a selective-release scale inhibitor located within a portion of the subterranean formation. The methods include locating a selective-release scale inhibitor within a portion of the subterranean formation and producing a reservoir fluid from the subterranean formation via the hydrocarbon well, including facilitating a change in environmental conditions present within the portion of the subterranean formation from initial environmental conditions to subsequent environmental conditions. Under the initial environmental conditions, the selective-release scale inhibitor is insoluble both in hydrocarbons and in water. Under the subsequent environmental conditions, the selective-release scale inhibitor is soluble in water.

SYNTHETIC ACID COMPOSITIONS ALTERNATIVES TO CONVENTIONAL ACIDS IN THE OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY

A synthetic acid composition for use in oil industry activities, said composition comprising: urea and hydrogen chloride in a molar ratio of not less than 0.1:1; and an amino acid, and optionally, a phosphonic acid derivative.

Downhole methods

A method for the fracking or stimulation of a hydrocarbon-bearing formation, said method comprising the steps of: providing a wellbore in need of stimulation; inserting a plug in the wellbore at a predetermined location; inserting a perforating tool and a spearhead or breakdown acid into the wellbore; positioning the tool at said predetermined location; perforating the wellbore with the tool thereby creating a perforated area; allowing the spearhead acid to come into contact with the perforated area for a predetermined period of time sufficient to prepare the formation for fracking or stimulation; removing the tool from the wellbore; and initiating the fracking of the perforated area using a fracking fluid. Also disclosed is a corrosion inhibiting composition for use with the acid composition.

Methods for targeted chemical treatment of well bores

A method for wellbore treatment. The method including preparing an encapsulated treatment agent via polymerization, feeding the encapsulated treatment agent into the wellbore, delivering the encapsulated treatment agent to a desired depth within a formation in the wellbore, activating an acoustic or an electromagnetic source at the desired depth within the formation, and generating an acoustic field or an electromagnetic field. The acoustic field or electromagnetic field activates the encapsulant thereby releasing the treatment agent into the wellbore and a desired depth.
