Treatment methods using aqueous fluids containing oil-soluble treatment agents
A method of treating a well or a subterranean formation with an aqueous treatment fluid containing one or more oil-soluble, water-insoluble well treatment agents. The fluid includes an aqueous dispersion containing the well treatment agent in an amount from 25 to 60 weight percent. The volume average particle diameter of the oil-soluble well treatment agent in the fluid may be less than or equal to 2.5 microns. The fluid may further contain a water-soluble well treatment agent.
Fluorous additives for use in a fluorous-based treatment fluid
A treatment fluid comprises: a liquid fluorinated compound; and at least one additive, wherein the additive: (A) comprises carbon and at least one fluorine functional group; and (B) is soluble or dispersible in the liquid fluorinated compound. A method of treating a portion of a well comprises: forming the treatment fluid; and introducing the treatment fluid into the well.
SPECIFIC INHIBITORS OF (PER)CHLORATE RESPIRATION AS A MEANS TO ENHANCE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF (PER)CHLORATE AS A SOURING CONTROL MECHANISM IN OIL RESERVOIRS
The present disclosure relates generally to methods of controlling souring in systems, and more specifically to methods of using chlorine oxyanions and inhibitors of (per)chlorate respiration to control souring in a system.
Salt-Free Fluorous-Invert Emulsion Fluid
Disclosed are compositions, methods, and systems of treating a well. A method may comprise providing a treatment fluid comprising a fluorous oil external phase, a salt-free non-chloride containing internal phase, and a fluorous-based surfactant; and introducing the treatment fluid into a wellbore. A treatment fluid composition may comprise a fluorous oil external phase, a salt-free non-chloride containing internal phase, and a fluorous-based surfactant.
NOVEL DOWNHOLE METHODS
A method for the fracking or stimulation of a hydrocarbon-bearing formation, said method comprising the steps of: providing a wellbore in need of stimulation; inserting a plug in the wellbore at a predetermined location; inserting a perforating tool and a spearhead or breakdown acid into the wellbore; positioning the tool at said predetermined location; perforating the wellbore with the tool thereby creating a perforated area; allowing the spearhead acid to come into contact with the perforated area for a predetermined period of time sufficient to prepare the formation for fracking or stimulation; removing the tool form the wellbore; and initiating the fracking of the perforated area using a fracking fluid.
Also disclosed is a corrosion inhibiting composition for us with the acid composition.
Wellbore fluids comprising mineral particles and methods relating thereto
Mineral particles may provide for wellbore fluids with tailorable properties and capabilities. In some instances, a dry wellbore additive may comprise a plurality of first mineral particles having a specific gravity of about 2.6 to about 20; a plurality of second mineral particles having a specific gravity of about 5.5 to about 20; a plurality of lubricant particles having a specific gravity of about 2.6 to about 20; wherein the first mineral particles, the second mineral particles, and the lubricant particles are different; and wherein the first mineral particles, the second mineral particles, and the lubricant particles have a multiparticle specific gravity of about 3 to about 20.
METHODS AND CEMENT COMPOSITIONS FOR REDUCING CORROSION OF WELLBORE CASINGS
A corrosion inhibiting cement composition for reducing corrosion of wellbore casings is disclosed that includes from 10 weight percent to 70 weight percent cement precursor, from 5 weight percent to 70 weight percent water, from 0.1% to 60% by weight of cement amine corrosion inhibitor, where the amine corrosion inhibitor comprises a polyethylene polyamine. A method for reducing corrosion of wellbore casings includes dispensing the corrosion inhibiting cement compositions into the annulus and allowing the corrosion inhibiting cement composition to cure to form a hardened cement, where the corrosion inhibiting cement composition includes a cement composition and the amine corrosion inhibitor.
BIOLOGICAL CORROSION INHIBITOR FOR METALS
An object of the present invention is to provide a biological corrosion inhibitor for a metal, which exhibits the effect at a low concentration and is superior in biodegradability. A biological corrosion inhibitor for a metal including 3-methylglutaraldehyde as an effective ingredient is provided.
Synthetic Acid Compositions Alternatives to Conventional Acids in the Oil and Gas Industry
A synthetic acid composition for use in oil industry activities, said composition comprising: urea and hydrogen chloride in a molar ratio of not less than 0.1:1; and a metal iodide or iodate. Optionally, a phosphonic acid derivative may be added.
Composition Including a Curable Resin and Organophilically-Modified Clay for Subterranean Oil Well Applications
Various embodiments disclosed relate to compositions including a curable resin and organophilically-modified clay for subterranean oil well applications and methods of using the same. Various embodiments provide a method of treating a subterranean formation including placing in a subterranean formation a curable composition that includes at least one of a curable organic resin and a thermosetting polymer. The curable composition also includes an organophilically-modified clay.
