In addition, there is provided a compound which has excellent aligning properties of a liquid crystal compound and excellent adhesiveness between a liquid crystal layer after being cleaned with a solvent and a layer disposed adjacent to the liquid crystal layer, in a case of forming a liquid crystal layer by being mixed with a liquid crystal compound. In addition, there are provided an optically anisotropic layer, a cured film, and a diffraction element. The liquid crystal composition of the present invention contains a compound represented by Formula (1) and a liquid crystal compound.
