The present disclosure describes a computer-implemented method that includes: monitoring, at a gas oil separation plant (GOSP) facility that includes a high-pressure production trap (HPPT) apparatus and a Dual Frequency Desalting (DFD) device, a plurality of parameters, wherein the plurality of parameters include one or more current measurements from the DFD device, as well as gas temperature and demulsifier concentration from the HPPT; based on the one or more current measurements, determining a rate of change of the one or more current measurements from the DFD device; and in response to the rate of change as well as the gas temperature and the demulsifier concentration, adjusting a demulsifier dosage being injected at the HPPT apparatus.

The present disclosure describes a method including: receiving input data from a gas and oil separation plant (GOSP), wherein: one or more demulsifiers is being injected into an emulsion to achieve a separation, a plurality of flow rates of water and the one or more demulsifiers are being measured inside the GOSP, the input data comprises the plurality of flow rates as well as temperatures corresponding to the plurality of flow rates, and determining, for each of the one or more demulsifiers, efficiencies of the separation based on the flow rates measured at corresponding temperatures; grouping respective efficiencies of separation according to a set of temperature ranges; and generating, for at least one temperature range, a histogram for the at least one temperature range; ranking the one or more demulsifiers according to the histogram; and providing a feedback to indicate a ranked order of the one or more demulsifiers.

A method and a system for purification of oil, said method comprising the steps of: -providing separation aid and oil to be purified to at least one sedimentation tank; -waiting for allowing a sludge phase to sediment to a bottom part of the sedimentation tank, said sludge phase comprising the separation aid together with impurities from the oil; -removing an oil phase not comprising said sludge phase from the at least one sedimentation tank; and -filtering said oil phase through a depth filter for removing any possible remaining separation aid and impurities.
