Systems, apparatuses and methods of utilizing a Fischer-Tropsch (FT) tail gas purge stream for recycling are disclosed. One or more methods include removing an FT tail gas purge stream from an FT tail gas produced by an FT reactor, treating the FT tail gas purge stream with steam in a water gas shift (WGS) reactor, having a WGS catalyst, to produce a shifted FT purge stream including carbon dioxide and hydrogen, and removing at least a portion of the carbon dioxide from the shifted FT purge stream, producing a carbon dioxide stream and a treated purge stream. Other embodiments are also disclosed.

An integrated process for upgrading a hydrocarbon oil feed stream utilizing a delayed coker, steam enhanced catalytic cracker, and an aromatics complex includes solvent deasphalting the hydrocarbon oil stream; delayed coking the heavy residual hydrocarbons; hydrotreating the delayed coker product stream and the deasphalted oil stream to form a C.sub.3-C.sub.4 hydrocarbon stream, a light C.sub.5+ hydrocarbon stream, and a heavy C.sub.5+ hydrocarbon stream; dehydrogenating the C.sub.3-C.sub.4 hydrocarbon stream to form propylene and butylene; steam enhanced catalytically cracking the light C.sub.5+ hydrocarbon stream; steam enhanced catalytically cracking the heavy C.sub.5+ hydrocarbon stream; passing at least a portion of the light steam enhanced catalytically cracked stream, the heavy steam enhanced catalytically cracked stream, or both to a product separator to produce a olefin product stream, a naphtha product stream, and a BTX product stream; and processing the naphtha product stream in the aromatics complex to produce benzene and xylenes.

INTEGRATED PROCESS FOR PRODUCING ANODE GRADE COKE

The invention relates to processes for producing anode grade coke from whole crude oil. The invention is accomplished by first deasphalting a feedstock, followed by processing resulting DAO and asphalt fractions. The DAO fraction is hydrotreated or hydrocracked, resulting in removal of sulfur and hydrocarbons, which boil at temperatures over 370 C., and gasifying the asphalt portion in one embodiment. This embodiment includes subjecting hydrotreated and/or unconverted DAO fractions to delayed coking. In an alternate embodiment, rather than gasifying the asphalt portion, it is subjected to delayed coking in a separate reaction chamber. Any coke produced via delayed coking can be gasified.

A fuel processing system and method for a sulfur bearing fuel include a hydrodesulfurization reactor followed by an adsorbent bed for removing sulfur or sulfur containing species from the fuel. In certain embodiments, the adsorbent bed is a ZnO bed. In another embodiment, a fuel processing system and method for a sulfur bearing fuel include a steam reformer, a hydrodesulfurization reactor, and an adsorbent bed.

METHODS FOR PROCESSING LIQUID ORGANIC HYDROGEN CARRIERS

One or more liquid organic hydrogen carriers may be processed by a method that may include introducing a hydrotreater feed including one or more hydrogen-diminished liquid organic hydrogen carriers, a naphtha feed, and hydrogen gas into a naphtha hydrotreater to form a hydrotreated effluent. In the naphtha hydrotreater, the one or more hydrogen-diminished liquid organic hydrogen carriers and hydrogen gas may react to form one or more hydrogen-rich liquid organic hydrogen carriers, and the naphtha feed reacts to form a hydrotreated naphtha. The method may include passing the hydrotreated effluent from the naphtha hydrotreater to a separation unit, wherein the hydrotreated effluent includes the one or more hydrogen-rich liquid organic hydrogen carriers, the hydrotreated naphtha, and unreacted hydrogen. The method may further comprise, in the separation unit, separating at least the one or more hydrogen-rich liquid organic hydrogen carriers from the hydrotreated naphtha.

The renewable hydrogen is produced in a hydrogen production process comprising methane reforming, wherein at least a portion of the feedstock for the hydrogen production process comprises upgraded biogas sourced from a plurality of biogas plants. Each of the upgraded biogases is produced in a process that includes collecting biogas comprising methane and carbon dioxide, capturing at least 50% of the carbon dioxide originally present in the collected biogas and producing the upgraded biogas. Storage of the captured carbon dioxide reducing a carbon intensity of the fuel, without having to provide carbon capture and storage of carbon dioxide from hydrogen production.

Electrical power derived from a renewable energy source is used to perform water electrolysis to produce oxygen and hydrogen. A flue gas and heat are produced from combustion of a fuel using at least a portion of the oxygen generated by electrolysis. A feed stream including hydrocarbon oil is hydroprocessed using the generated heat and at least a portion of the hydrogen generated by electrolysis to produce a product including a saturated hydrocarbon. At least a portion of the flue gas is hydrogenated using at least a portion of the hydrogen generated by electrolysis to produce a second product stream including a hydrocarbon, an oxygenate, or both.

Process for synthesising hydrocarbons

A process for synthesising hydrocarbons is described comprising the steps of (a) making a synthesis gas comprising hydrogen, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide from a feedstock in a synthesis gas generation unit, (b) removing carbon dioxide to produce a carbon dioxide stream and purified synthesis gas comprising hydrogen and carbon monoxide for synthesis in a Fischer-Tropsch hydrocarbon synthesis unit wherein (i) at least a portion of the FT water stream is fed to an electrolysis unit to provide an oxygen stream, which is fed to the synthesis gas generation unit. Carbon dioxide stream recovered from the carbon dioxide removal unit and a portion of the hydrogen stream produced by the electrolysis unit are fed to a reverse water-gas shift unit to produce a carbon monoxide stream, with carbon monoxide stream from the reverse water-gas shift unit is fed to the Fischer-Tropsch hydrocarbon synthesis unit.
