WALKING ASSISTANCE METHOD AND APPARATUSES
Disclosed is a walking assistance method and apparatuses, wherein a walking assistance apparatus is configured to adaptively control at least one of a length or a stiffness based on a gait motion of a user to assist an upper body of the user.
Mobility devices having smart features and charging mounts for same
Examples described herein include mobility devices that may include a variety of enhanced features. For example, mobility devices are described which may more accurately assess a fall of a user by determining if a user is in proximity to a portion of the mobility device after a fall of the mobility device is detected. Examples of wall mounted chargers for mobility devices are also described. Moreover, examples of mechanisms for detaching and attaching tips to mobility devices (e.g. canes) are described which may facilitate swapping of different tips for different situations.
Clamping device for a longitudinally adjustable pole
A clamping device (1) for a walking pole for securing an inner tube (3) which can be slid into an opening of the clamping device that is secured to an outer tube (2). There is a plastic sleeve (4), on which a clamping lever (6) is hinged against the force of a spring element (10). The clamping lever (6) has a first lever arm (12) for releasing the clamping device (1) and a second lever arm (11) arranged on the other side. The second lever arm (11) has a protrusion (9) which is arranged radially to the pole axis (36) and which engages into and through a radial through-opening (19) in the plastic sleeve (4) and engages into a groove (22) of the inner tube (3) in a formfitting manner in order to axially secure the two tubes (2, 3).
Adjustable and retractable rod apparatus
An adjustable and retractable rod includes an external pipe fitting, a multi-section rod and a positioning unit. The multi-section rod includes a first and at least one second foldable rod, where the first and second foldable rods have the same outer diameter, and the positioning unit includes a linkage rope, a positioning component and a locking component, which are used to pull the external pipe fitting and the first foldable rod relative to each other. The linkage rope can be dragged, and the locking component and the positioning unit interlocked or separated. When the locking component and the positioning component are interlocked, the external pipe fitting can be connected to the multi-section rod unit in an unfolded state. When the locking component moves away from the positioning component, the first and second foldable rods of the multi-section rod are folded and in parallel relative to the external pipe fitting.
Telescoping assembly
A telescoping assembly includes a first tube member, a second tube member, an inner tubular member coupled to move with said second tube member, an outer sleeve mounted on said first tube member, and a latch block disposed in a latch bore of the outer sleeve and having an actuating end region and a blocking end region. In response to pressing of the actuating end region, the latch block is displaced from a locked position, where the blocking end region is in blocking engagement with a shoulder surface of the inner tubular member, to an unlocked position.
Convertible hiking sticks
A convertible hiking stick includes a handle extending along a center axis and a first leg and a second leg that couple to the handle and extend along the center axis. The hiking stick is convertible into a tripod such that the first leg is in a first bore of the handle, the second leg is in a second bore of the handle, the first leg extends transverse to the second leg, and the first leg, the second leg, and the handle together support the hiking stick with respect to a surface.
Voice-to-text cane system
A cane has an upper extent, a lower extent, and a central extent there between. The lower extent has a cylindrical configuration and includes a threaded coupling to the central extent for lengthening and shortening purposes. The central extent has an LCD screen for displaying text messages. A speaker in the upper extent is audibly accessible to a user. A processor is operatively coupled to the speaker and the LCD screen and a source of electrical potential.
HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE WALKING AID
A height adjustable walking aid includes an outer tube and an inner tube slidably received within the outer tube. Adjustment is made using a, actuating assembly and pin assembly. Application of an actuation force upon the actuating assembly engages a translating member within the translating rod assembly to drive a lower pin travel block of the pin assembly from a first position to a second position. A pin then travels from an extended position to a retracted position such that the inner tube may slidably translate within the outer tube
WALKING CANE
An adjustable walking cane includes an inner tube slidably received within an outer tube. The inner tube defines a plurality of apertures therethrough. A translating rod assembly having a central fixed rod and a concentrically mounted translating member is also included. An actuating assembly including a button proximate the top end of the outer tube is coupled to a first end of the translating member. A pin assembly is located at the bottom end of the outer tube and has a pin reciprocally translatable between an extended position, where the pin engages a selected aperture of the plurality of apertures defined within the inner tube, and a retracted position where the pin disengages from the outer tube. Application of a force upon the button causes the pin to move from the extended position to the retracted position such that the inner tube slides within the outer tube.
