Purification of renewable oils

A Process for the purification of renewable oils. The process may also be applied to petroleum oils such as used motor oil and the like. The process involves centrifuging the renewable oil in a centrifugal device producing a minimum of 7000 RCF, then contacting the oil with a mixture containing water, a straight chain hydro-treated ester compound, and a phosphate derivative at a minimum temperature of 100 C. for 10 minutes, then raising temperature to approximately between 120 C. and 130 C. to complete reaction. The mixture is then again centrifuged in a centrifugal device producing a minimum of 7000 RCF.

METAL REMOVAL FROM FLUIDS

Metals, such as mercury, may be removed from aqueous, hydrocarbon, or mixed oilfield or refinery fluids by: applying a sulfur compound having the general formula HS-X, wherein X is a heteroatom substituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, and/or alkylaryl group either alone or in combination with or as a blend with at least one demulsifier, a buffering agent, a pour point depressant, and/or a water clarifier to chelate the at least one metal and form a chelate complex of the sulfur compound with the at least one metal and then separating the chelate complex from the fluid.

Process for crude petroleum oil processing in the crude distillation unit (CDU)

Method for crude petroleum oil processing in Crude Distillation Unit is provided to eliminate the stripping steam in an Atmospheric Distillation Column (VDC) of CDU for a significant reduction in the CDU's operating cost and alleviating the corrosion in the overhead section of ADC. The present invention relates to a method of separating the components of crude petroleum oil. The proposed method utilizes the innovative application of process hydrocarbon vapour consisting of a lighter fraction of crude and natural gas. The conceptualized new schemes for downstream processing the Light and Heavy gas oil (LGO and HGO) distillates to meet their boiling specifications are also disclosed.

Light oil reflux heavies removal process

The invention relates to various nonlimiting embodiments that include methods, apparatuses or systems for processing natural gas comprising a heavies removal column processing natural gas and light oil reflux. The overhead stream goes to heavies treated natural gas storage. The heavies removal column reboiler bottoms stream product is input to a debutanizer column. The debutanizer column overhead lights are input to a flash drum where the bottoms is pumped through a heat exchanger as a light oil reflux input to the heavies removal column, while the debutanizer reboiler bottoms product is stored as stabilized condensate. Alternatively, debutanizer column overhead lights are sent to heavies treated gas storage and the bottoms stream product goes to a depentanizer column, the overhead lights are pumped through a heat exchanger as a light oil reflux input to the heavies removal column, while the depentanizer reboiler bottoms product is stabilized condensate.

Systems and processes are provided for upgrading a crude oil. In some examples, a heated crude oil can be introduced into an atmospheric distillation column where an overhead gas product comprising C.sub.4 hydrocarbons can be recovered and recycled back to the atmospheric distillation column to decrease the partial pressure of the C.sub.5+ hydrocarbons in the distillation column allowing higher boiling point fractions of crude oil to be vaporized and recovered.
