CONFIGURATION FOR OLEFINS PRODUCTION
Processes herein may be used to thermally crack various hydrocarbon feeds, and may eliminate the refinery altogether while making the crude to chemicals process very flexible in terms of crude. In embodiments herein, crude is progressively separated into at least light and heavy fractions. Depending on the quality of the light and heavy fractions, these are routed to one of three upgrading operations, including a fixed bed hydroconversion unit, a fluidized catalytic conversion unit, or a residue hydrocracking unit that may utilize an ebullated bed reactor. Products from the upgrading operations may be used as feed to a steam cracker.

System for conversion of crude oil to petrochemicals and fuel products integrating steam cracking and conversion of naphtha into chemical rich reformate
Process scheme configurations are disclosed that enable conversion of crude oil feeds with several processing units in an integrated manner into petrochemicals. The designs utilize minimum capital expenditures to prepare suitable feedstocks for the steam cracker complex. The integrated process for converting crude oil to petrochemical products including olefins and aromatics, and fuel products, includes mixed feed steam cracking and conversion of naphtha to chemical rich reformate. Feeds to the mixed feed steam cracker include light products from hydroprocessing zones within the battery limits, recycle streams from the C3 and C4 olefins recovery steps, and raffinate from a pyrolysis gasoline aromatics extraction zone within the battery limits. Chemical reformate from straight run naphtha streams is used as an additional feed to the aromatics extraction zone and or the mixed feed steam cracker. Feeds to the gas oil steam cracker include hydrotreated gas oil range intermediates from the vacuum gas oil hydroprocessing zone.

Methods for producing multifunctional catalysts for upgrading pyrolysis oil
A method of making a multifunctional catalyst for upgrading pyrolysis oil includes contacting a zeolite support with a solution including at least a first metal catalyst precursor and a second metal catalyst precursor, the first metal catalyst precursor, the second metal catalyst precursor, or both, including a heteropolyacid. Contacting the zeolite support with the solution deposits or adsorbs the first metal catalyst precursor and the second catalyst precursor onto outer surfaces and pore surfaces of the zeolite support to produce a multifunctional catalyst precursor. The method further includes removing excess solution from the multifunctional catalyst precursor and calcining the multifunctional catalyst precursor to produce the multifunctional catalyst comprising at least a first metal catalyst and a second metal catalyst deposited on the outer surfaces and pore surfaces of the zeolite support.
Methods for producing mesoporous zeolite multifunctional catalysts for upgrading pyrolysis oil
A method of making a multifunctional catalyst for upgrading pyrolysis oil includes contacting a hierarchical mesoporous zeolite support with a solution including at least a first metal catalyst precursor and a second metal catalyst precursor, each or both of which may include a heteropolyacid. The hierarchical mesoporous zeolite support may have an average pore size of from 2 nm to 40 nm. Contacting the hierarchical mesoporous zeolite support with the solution deposits or adsorbs the first metal catalyst precursor and the second catalyst precursor onto outer surfaces and pore surfaces of the hierarchical mesoporous zeolite support to produce a multifunctional catalyst precursor. The method further includes removing excess solution and calcining the multifunctional catalyst precursor to produce the multifunctional catalyst comprising at least a first metal catalyst and a second metal catalyst deposited on the outer surfaces and pore surfaces of the hierarchical mesoporous zeolite support.
SHALE GAS AND CONDENSATE TO CHEMICALS
Provided are systems and methods for obtaining ethylene and propylene products from, for example, shale gas and shale gas condensate feedstocks. These systems and method operate by utilizing a hydrocracker train to crack C4 and C5 hydrocarbons to a product stream of propane and ethane or using a hydrogenolysis train to process C4 and C5 hydrocarbons to a product stream of propane and ethane that is provided to a cracker for an efficient conversion to ethylene and propylene. The disclosed systems are configured to reduce the amount of offsite hydrogen needed and also provide product streams that include a well-defined set of products as compared to existing approaches.
Method of co-processing fluidized catalytic cracking naphtha and pyrolysis gasoline
An integrated process for forming a combined feedstock stream comprising catalytically cracking a first hydrocarbon feedstock to form a full range cracked full naphtha stream and a first light olefins stream, steam cracking a second hydrocarbon feedstock to form a pyrolysis gasoline stream and a second light olefins stream mixing at least a portion of each of the full range cracked naphtha stream and the pyrolysis gasoline stream to form a combined stream, hydro-processing the combined stream to form a hydro-processed combined stream splitting the hydro-processed combined stream into a C.sub.5/C.sub.6 stream, and a first aromatic rich stream, splitting the first aromatic rich stream into a second aromatic rich stream and a heavy oil stream.
POLISHED TURBINE FUEL
Turbine fuel provided for large-scale land based turbines used by utilities for producing electricity and desalinated water, and for large mobile engines and turbines in marine and remote applications where only liquid fuels are available. Use results in less corrosion, ash formation and emissions (NOx, SOx, CO2 and noxious metals) than firing contaminated heavy crude, refinery residual oils or high sulfur fuel oils. Manufacture is by decontaminating crude oils, non-conventional crudes, and other highly contaminated feeds. Each fuel is produced as a single product of unit operations, not ex-plant blend of various refinery products, yet using an apparatus configuration less complex than conventional crude oil refining. These fuels can be fired by advanced high efficiency turbines of combined cycle power plants having hot flow paths and heat recovery steam generation systems susceptible to corrosion, which systems cannot otherwise risk contaminated heavy crudes or refinery residual oils feeds.
