MEANS AND METHODS FOR MANAGING AMMONIA, AMINE AND NORMAL SALT FOULING IN OIL PRODUCTION AND REFINING

Methods for use in treating hydrocarbon streams are provided. The methods of the present disclosure include; introducing one or more alcohols into a hydrocarbon stream that includes one or more hydrolyzable chloride compounds; allowing the one or more alcohols to interact with, the one or more hydrolyzable chloride compounds; and increasing: one of a solubility value or a dispersancy value of at least a portion of the hydrolyzable chloride compounds in the hydrocarbon steam.

Production of stable fuel oils

Low sulfur marine fuel compositions and methods for making the same are provided. The compositions exhibit a sulfur content of at most 0.50 wt. %, a solvent power of at least 0.30, and a P-value of at least 1.15.

Compositions and methods for reducing hydrogen sulfide and microbial influenced corrosion in crude oil, natural gas, and in associated equipment

The present invention provides compositions and methods for reducing hydrogen sulfide and/or mercaptans in oil and/or natural gas as well as for reducing microbial induced corrosion (“MIC”) in oil and gas production environments. In particular, the subject invention provides environmentally-friendly compositions and methods for reducing hydrogen sulfide in oil and natural gas environments by controlling biocorrosive bacteria, such as SRB, therein.

Steam Cracking Processes and the Use of Solvents Streams Produced by Solvent-Assisted Tar Conversion Processes

In an embodiment, a method for decreasing reactor fouling in a steam cracking process is provided. The method includes steam cracking a hydrocarbon feed to obtain a quench oil composition comprising a concentration of donatable hydrogen of 0.5 wt. % or more based on a total weight percent of the quench oil composition; exposing a steam cracker effluent flowing from a pyrolysis furnace to the quench oil composition to form a mixture; and fractionating the mixture in a separation apparatus to obtain a steam cracker tar. In another embodiment, a hydrocarbon mixture is provided. The hydrocarbon mixture includes a mid-cut composition.
