Methanol plant and gasoline synthesis plant

Provided is a methanol plant that can obtain fresh water from sea water by using, in a seawater desalination device, the exhaust heat discharged in a step for producing methanol from natural gas. The methanol plant is provided with: a heat exchanger (4) that recovers into a thermal medium (for example, seawater) the exhaust heat discharged from a step for producing methanol from a feed stock (for example, natural gas); and a seawater desalinization device (6) that obtains freshwater from seawater using the exhaust heat recovered by means of the thermal medium.

Process for producing phosphorus modified zeolite catalysts

In a process for producing a phosphorus-modified zeolite catalyst, an aqueous reaction mixture comprising a source of silica and a source of an organic directing agent effective to direct the synthesis of a desired zeolite is heated at a temperature and for a time sufficient to produce crystals of the desired zeolite. Wet zeolite crystals can then be separated from the reaction mixture and, without removing all the water from the wet zeolite crystals, the zeolite can be converted into the ammonium form by ion exchange, and the crystals can be treated with a phosphorus compound. The phosphorus-treated, ammonium-exchanged zeolite can then be formed into a catalyst to be heated in one or more stages to remove the water and organic directing agent from the zeolite crystals and to convert the zeolite to the hydrogen form.

PROCESS FOR THE TREATMENT OF A GASOLINE

A process for the treatment of a gasoline containing sulphur-containing compounds, olefins and diolefins, comprising the following steps: a) fractionating the gasoline in a manner such as to recover at least one intermediate gasoline cut, MCN, comprising hydrocarbons and wherein the temperature difference (ΔT) between the 5% and 95% by weight distillation points is less than 60° C.; b) desulphurizing the intermediate gasoline cut MCN alone and in the presence of a hydrodesulphurization catalyst and hydrogen in a manner such as to produce a partially desulphurized intermediate gasoline cut MCN; and c) fractionating, in a splitter, the at least partially desulphurized intermediate gasoline cut MCN which has not undergone catalytic treatment subsequent to step b), in a manner such as to recover an intermediate gasoline with low sulphur and mercaptans contents from the column head and a cut of hydrocarbons containing sulphur-containing compounds including mercaptans from the column bottom.

Process and composition of catalyst/additive for reducing fuel gas yield in fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) process

The present invention relates to a catalyst composition for Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) which contains a combination of a FCC catalyst component and an additive component with certain physical properties attributed therein. The present invention is also directed to provide methods for the preparation of the catalyst composition for FCC. The admixture of the FCC catalyst component and additive component is used in cracking of hydrocarbon feedstock containing hydrocarbons of higher molecular weight and higher boiling point and/or olefin gasoline naphtha feedstock for producing lower yield of fuel gas without affecting the conversion and yield of general cracking products such as gasoline, propylene and C.sub.4 olefins.

PROCESS FOR CATALYTIC PRODUCTION OF PROPANOL

The present disclosure is related to a multistep process for producing renewable gasoline components from a glyceride containing feedstock. The glycerides are split to provide a stream containing fatty acids, or esters of fatty acids, and another stream containing glycerol and water. Glycerol, preferably as crude glycerol recovered from splitting, is next converted to propanols at vapor phase, providing a renewable propanol gasoline component. Another renewable gasoline component is obtained from hydroprocessing of the fatty acids or esters thereof, as a renewable paraffinic naphtha component. Blending the renewable components can provide a novel 100% renewable gasoline.

PROCESS AND PLANT FOR PRODUCING HYDROCARBONS WITH REDUCED CO2-FOOTPRINT AND IMPROVED HYDROGEN INTEGRATION

Process and plant for producing hydrocarbon products from a feedstock originating from a renewable source, where a hydrogen-rich stream and on off-gas stream comprising hydrocarbons is formed. A portion of the hydrogen-rich stream is used as a recycle gas stream in a hydroprocessing stage for the production of said hydrocarbon products, and another portion may be used for hydrogen production, while the off-gas stream is treated to remove its H.sub.2S content and used as a recycle gas stream in the hydrogen producing unit, from which the hydrogen produced i.e. make-up hydrogen, is used in the hydroprocessing stage. The invention enables minimizing natural gas consumption in the hydrogen producing unit as well as steam reformer size.

Process, Apparatus, Controller and System for Producing Petroleum Products

A process and an apparatus for pyrolysis of mixed plastic feedstock producing petroleum products are described. In one example, a process for producing petroleum products includes charging feedstock of mixed polymer materials into a reactor apparatus. Heat energy is applied to the feedstock while advancing the feedstock through the reactor apparatus in an anaerobic operation. The energy input to the reactor apparatus is controlled by controlling a temperature gradient within the reactor vessel to produce petroleum gas product. The process involves in situ chemical reactions comprising cracking and recombination reactions that that are controlled to convert solid hydrocarbonaceous portion of the feedstock to molten fluids and gases inside the reactor vessel and to produce gaseous petroleum products which exit the reactor vessel. The separated solid residue from the pyrolysis process is also removed from the reactions vessel.
