PROCESS FOR OBTAINING ALKYL-NAPHTHENICS
The present invention addresses to a process for the production of alkyl-naphthenics for use as diesel and/or aviation kerosene (JET A-1), whose process involves the alkylation of olefins with monoaromatics and subsequent hydrogenation to alkyl-naphthenics. The process and catalysts of the present invention allow the regeneration of the acidic catalyst with a hydrogenating function and full recovery of its activity with hydrogen hot stripping. The catalyst is used for the formation of intermediate alkyl-aromatics and can also be used in the subsequent hydrogenation to alkyl-naphthenics.
Method of producing liquid fuel from carbonaceous feedstock through gasification and recycling of downstream products
A feedstock delivery system transfers a carbonaceous material, such as municipal solid waste, into a product gas generation system. The feedstock delivery system includes a splitter for splitting bulk carbonaceous material into a plurality of carbonaceous material streams. Each stream is processed using a weighing system for gauging the quantity of carbonaceous material, a densification system for forming plugs of carbonaceous material, a de-densification system for breaking up the plugs of carbonaceous material, and a gas and carbonaceous material mixing system for forming a carbonaceous material and gas mixture. A pressure of the mixing gas is reduced prior to mixing with the carbonaceous material, and the carbonaceous material to gas weight ratio is monitored. A transport assembly conveys the carbonaceous material and gas mixture to a first reactor where at least the carbonaceous material within the mixture is subject to thermochemical reactions to form the product gas.
Static coalescer, system and method therefor
A coalescence method and related system are disclosed herein. A multiphase dispersion feed comprising first and second liquids (i.e. where droplets of the first liquid (dispersed phase) are dispersed in the second liquid (continuous phase)) is passed through a static mechanical droplet-coalescer comprising a channel characterized by a plurality of in-series segments, each segment characterized by a segment-specific-characteristic obstacle size and having geometric features disclosed herein. In embodiments of the invention, the static mechanical droplet-coalescer promotes coalescence between droplets of first liquid to form larger droplets of first liquid. Subsequently, after the dispersion exits the coalescer, the larger droplets are easier to remove from the second liquid (continuous phase) than the smaller droplets that coalesced into the larger droplets.
Circular economy for plastic waste to polyethylene and lubricating oil via crude and isomerization dewaxing units
Provided is a continuous process for converting waste plastic into recycle for polyethylene polymerization. In one embodiment, the process comprises selecting waste plastics containing polyethylene and/or polypropylene and passing the waste plastics through a pyrolysis reactor to thermally crack at least a portion of the polyolefin waste and produce a pyrolyzed effluent. The pyrolyzed effluent is separated into offgas, a naphtha/diesel fraction, a heavy fraction, and char. The naphtha/diesel fraction is passed to a crude unit distillation column in a refinery where a straight run naphtha (C.sub.5-C.sub.8) fraction or a propane/butane (C.sub.3-C.sub.4) fraction is recovered. The straight run naphtha fraction (C.sub.5-C.sub.8) or the propane/butane (C.sub.3-C.sub.4) fraction is passed to a steam cracker for ethylene production. The heavy fraction from the pyrolysis unit can also be passed to an isomerization dewaxing unit to produce a base oil.
Methods of whole crude and whole crude wide cut hydrotreating and dewaxing low hetroatom content petroleum
Methods of refining a whole crude oil stream. The methods involve first processing the crude either through a hydrotreating reactor comprising a dewaxing reactor bed or a flash evaporation separator. The treated streams are then further processed through a demetalization reactor bed, a hydroprocessing reactor bed, or both. The stream can then be still further processed via additional hydrotreating, distillation, or both.

Systems, methods and apparatus are provided through which in some implementations an apparatus to produce SAF from coal includes a coal-reforming-area that receives the coal and that produces synthetic gas from the coal, a Fischer-Tropsch conversion area that is operably coupled to the coal-reforming-area and that receives the synthetic gas and produces a hydrocarbon chain from the synthetic gas and a product-upgrading-area that is operably coupled to the Fischer-Tropsch conversion area that receives the hydrocarbon chain and that produces the SAF from the hydrocarbon chain.
METHOD TO CONVERT A CELLULOSIC FRACTION INTO FISCHER TROPSCH PRODUCTS, USING A LIGNOCELLULOSIC RAW MATERIAL BASED PROCESS FOR PRODUCTION OF SYNTHETIC GAS
The invention proposes a method comprising (i) using a lignocellulosic raw material based process for production of synthetic gas; (ii) introducing the syngas to a Fischer-Tropsch (FT) catalytic synthesis (FTS) process and generating Fischer-Tropsch products, wherein the synthetic gas production process comprises the steps a) extracting lignins and hemicelluloses by putting solid lignocellulosic raw material in contact with a mixture composed of at least water and formic acid, at atmospheric pressure under temperature between 80° C. and 110° C., b) fractionating the obtained primary solid fraction (PSF) and primary liquid fraction (PLF); c) recovering and obtaining an intermediate liquid fraction (ILF); d) separating the lignins; e) gasifying at least part of said primary solid fraction (PSF) for producing synthetic gas.
Desulfurization techniques
A desulfurization system has an oxidation process unit, and a multi-stage, liquid-liquid extraction unit in series with the oxidation process unit. The multi-stage, liquid-liquid extraction unit spits a fuel input from the oxidation process unit into a desulfurized fuel that is output for use, and a by-product. A solvent/sulfur/hydrocarbon separation process unit receives the by-product from the multi-stage, liquid-liquid extraction unit.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR LIQUID FUEL PRODUCTION FROM CARBONACEOUS MATERIALS USING RECYCLED CONDITIONED SYNGAS
A method of producing liquid fuel and/or chemicals from a carbonaceous material entails combusting a conditioned syngas in pulse combustion heat exchangers of a steam reformer to help convert carbonaceous material into first reactor product gas which includes carbon monoxide, hydrogen, carbon dioxide and other gases. A portion of the first reactor product gas is transferred to a hydrogen reformer into which additional conditioned syngas is added and a reaction carried out to produce an improved syngas. The improved syngas is then subject to one or more gas clean-up steps to form a new conditioned syngas. A portion of the new conditioned syngas is recycled to be used as the conditioned syngas in the pulse combustion heat exchangers and in the hydrocarbon reformer. A system for carrying out the method include, a steam reformer, a hydrocarbon reformer, first and second gas-cleanup systems, a synthesis system and an upgrading system.
Process of producing liquid fuels from coal using biomass-derived solvents
A process of producing a distillate fuel from coal includes: preparing a biomass-derived coal solvent; dissolving the coal in the biomass-derived solvent; and separating undissolved coal and mineral matter to produce a syncrude. In certain embodiments, the process further includes subjecting the syncrude to a hydrotreatment/hydrogenation process to produce a distillate fuel. In certain embodiments, the biomass-derived solvent is a hydrogen-donor solvent. A method to improve direct coal liquefaction includes: using a non-hydrogenated lipid in a direct coal liquefaction process to facilitate coal depolymerization. In certain embodiments, the lipid is a polyunsaturated biobased oil. A method for using a biomass-derived feedstock as a hydrogen donor includes: providing a biomass-derived feedstock; modifying the feedstock to improve its usefulness as a hydrogen donor; and conducting a transfer hydrogenation process using the modified feedstock as a hydrogen donor. In certain embodiments, the transfer hydrogenation process is a direct coal liquefaction process.
