PROCESS FOR PRODUCING LPG AND BTX
The invention relates to a process for producing LPG and BTX, comprising a) subjecting a mixed hydrocarbon feedstream to first hydrocracking in the presence of a first hydrocracking catalyst to produce a first hydrocracking product stream; b) separating the first hydrocracking product stream to provide at least a light hydrocarbon stream comprising at least C2 and C3 hydrocarbons, a middle hydrocarbon stream comprising C4 and/or C5 hydrocarbons and a heavy hydrocarbon stream comprising at least C6+ hydrocarbons and c) subjecting the heavy hydrocarbon stream to second hydrocracking to produce a second hydrocracking product stream comprising BTX, wherein the second hydrocracking is more severe than the first hydrocracking, wherein at least part of the middle hydrocarbon stream is recycled back to the first hydrocracking in step a).
Conversion of MEROX process by-products to useful products in an integrated refinery process
An integrated refinery process for removing mercaptans from a hydrocarbon stream containing mercaptans and converting by-product disulfide oil to useful products. The process includes introducing the hydrocarbon stream containing mercaptans into an extraction vessel containing an alkaline solution and passing the hydrocarbon stream through an extraction section of the extraction vessel which includes one or more liquid-liquid contacting decks for reaction to convert the mercaptans to alkali metal alkanethiolates. Further, the process includes withdrawing a hydrocarbon product stream free of mercaptans from the extraction vessel and recovering spent caustic containing alkali metal alkanethiolates from the extraction vessel. Additionally, the process includes subjecting the spent caustic containing alkali metal alkanethiolates to air oxidation to produce a by-product stream containing disulfide oils (DSO) and sulfides and processing the by-product stream in a steam cracking unit to produce a DSO free product stream.
Hydrocarbon residue upgradation process
The present subject matter provides a process for hydrocarbon residue upgradation. The combination of the hydrocarbon residue along with aromatic rich hydrocarbons, catalysts and surfactants allow the operation of visbreaking unit at higher temperature while producing a stable bottom product.
CHEMICAL PROCESS FOR SULFUR REDUCTION OF HYDROCARBONS
Treatment of hydrocarbon streams, and in one non-limiting embodiment refinery distillates, with high pH aqueous reducing agents, such as borohydride, results in reduction of the sulfur compounds such as disulfides, mercaptans and thioethers that are present to give easily removed sulfides. The treatment converts the original sulfur compounds into hydrogen sulfide or low molecular weight mercaptans that can be extracted from the distillate with caustic solutions, hydrogen sulfide or mercaptan scavengers, solid absorbents such as clay or activated carbon or liquid absorbents such as amine-aldehyde condensates and/or aqueous aldehydes.
Integrated heavy liquid fuel coking with chemical looping concept
A process for power generation using a chemical looping combustion concept is integrated with heavy liquid fuel coking in a cracking reactor, and is configured such that petcoke deposits on metal oxide particles from the cracking reactor are used as fuel in the chemical looping combustion reaction. The process is also configured such that metal oxide particles provide the heat necessary for the cracking reaction to be initiated in the cracking reactor.
Process and composition of catalyst/additive for reducing fuel gas yield in fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) process
The present invention relates to a catalyst composition for Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) which contains a combination of a FCC catalyst component and an additive component with certain physical properties attributed therein. The present invention is also directed to provide methods for the preparation of the catalyst composition for FCC. The admixture of the FCC catalyst component and additive component is used in cracking of hydrocarbon feedstock containing hydrocarbons of higher molecular weight and higher boiling point and/or olefin gasoline naphtha feedstock for producing lower yield of fuel gas without affecting the conversion and yield of general cracking products such as gasoline, propylene and C.sub.4 olefins.
Process and device for producing energy products by catalytic cracking of a hydrocarbon-based solid material without coke formation
The invention relates to a process for producing energy products, notably fuel, by catalytic cracking of a hydrocarbon-based solid material without coke formation, in which a cracking dispersion (40) is heated, said dispersion comprising: a solid material (1) in divided form containing at least one hydrocarbon-based compound; a liquid (30) which is inert with respect to catalytic cracking;
so that the cracking dispersion (40) reaches a temperature suitable for allowing catalytic cracking of at least one hydrocarbon-based compound;
characterized in that the cracking temperature is reached by mixing an amount of cracking dispersion (40) and an amount of inert liquid (30) brought to a temperature above the cracking temperature, such that the mixture formed reaches a temperature above the cracking temperature and below the temperature for formation of coke, dioxin and furan. The invention also relates to a device for performing such a process.
Operation of facilities for catalytic reforming
A method for optimising the operation of a facility for catalytic reforming, the facility including a multitude of reactors which have a catalyser and through which an operating gas including hydrocarbons and molecular hydrogen successively flows, wherein the composition of the operating gas in the reactors changes and wherein a product results at the outlet side of the last reactor. Specific constant characteristics as well as initial operating parameters that are present during the operation of the facility are acquired. A computational simulation of the chemical processes in the reactors then takes place, wherein results of a measurement of the chemical composition of the product at the outlet side of the last reactor is also included. A computational simulation of the chemical processes in the reactors with different varied operating parameters is subsequently carried out and set of optimised operating parameters is determined from the computed chemical composition.
RECYCLING SYSTEM AND PROCESS OF A METHANOL-TO-PROPYLENE AND STEAM CRACKER PLANT
The present disclosure provides a system and method for recycling intermediate product streams of at least gasoline from the MTP plant to the steam cracker plant for processing with the feedstock of the steam cracker plant to generate a higher percentage of ethylene and propylene.
