Umbrella having an anti-inversion mechanism
An umbrella has a plurality of ribs attached to a runner by main struts. The umbrella has an anti-inversion mechanism formed of a plurality of anti-inversion struts. Each anti-inversion strut is pivotally coupled to one respective main strut and is pivotally connected to a floating joint member that is freely movable along a length of one respective rib. The anti-inversion mechanism also includes a stop that is fixedly attached to the rib and restricts the degree of travel of the floating joint member along the rib and is positioned to prevent the respective rib from inverting in response to an applied force.
UMBRELLA WITH HUB REINFORCED TILT COUPLING
A tilting umbrella with a canopy assembly including a lower hub, an upright pole and a tilt mechanism. The tilt mechanism includes an actuator coupled with a lower pole portion and adjusts an upper pole portion from an untitled configuration to a second configuration. The lower hub is disposed at a tilt location between the upper pole portion and the lower pole portion. The lower hub can include an outer portion disposed over the upper pole portion that is pivotable relative to an inner portion disposed over the lower pole portion in the second configuration.
CANOPY UMBRELLA WITH IMPROVED CONTROL
An umbrella haying a quick release finial and a quick release cam cleat assembly is provided. The quick release finial includes a ball plunger assembly and a lever arm for applying force to release the ball plunger. The quick release cam cleat assembly includes a pivotable cam cleat and a pivotable gravity lock rocker arm.
UMBRELLA WITH PROTECTIVE SHEATH ASSEMBLY
An umbrella with a protective sheath assembly is provided. The umbrella can comprise a foldable canopy, a pole, a series of spokes extending from a hub slidable on the pole, the spokes supporting the canopy, a handle extended from the pole, and a foldable sheath selectively extendable from the canopy. A series of drawstrings can be provided for maintaining the sheath in a deployed state, the drawstrings connected to a cord for actuation of the drawstrings and consequently the deployment of the sheath. The protective sheath assembly provides partial to full body protection from inclement weather or natural elements including sun, wind, water, sand, mud, dirt, gravel, or other unwanted debris or dirt.

Umbrella Device
An umbrella for removably securing to a surface, such as a vehicle. The umbrella includes a shaft having a handle on a first end and a canopy on an opposing second end. One or more ribs are secured to the canopy in order to support the canopy in an open configuration. Each rib includes one or more weights in order to stabilize the canopy when secured to a surface. One or more magnets are secured to a lower end of each rib in order to removably secure the umbrella to a magnetic surface for hands-free use. An upper end of each rib is hingedly secured to the shaft. The ribs are operably connected to an actuatable button in the handle so as to extend the ribs outward from the shaft in order to expand the canopy into the open configuration.

Umbrella assembly with counterweight system
An umbrella is provided that includes a hollow pole, a shade assembly, a counterweight system, and a locking device. The shade assembly includes a guide rod coupled with an upper hub. The guide rod has a stop surface. The counterweight system has a ballast and a cord that has a first end coupled with the ballast and a second end coupled with a lower hub. The locking device has pushrod mechanism. When closing the umbrella, the pushrod mechanism moves upward disengaging a moveable locking surface from the guide rod to allow the lower hub to move downward and the ballast to move upward.
Universal retrofittable magnetic closing device for an outdoor umbrella
Disclosed is a magnetic closing device used with outdoor/patio umbrellas. The magnetic closing device is used for automatically closing the umbrella in windy conditions. The magnetic closing device includes two primary components: a magnetic component, or pole clamp collar; and a metallic component, or runner clamp collar. The runner clamp collar is attached to the runner hub of the umbrella, and the pole clamp collar is attachable to the intermediate pole section of the umbrella. The pole clamp collar, incorporates a plurality of magnets, which attract the runner clamp collar. The magnetic closing device keeps the umbrella in an open position as long as the magnetic connection between the magnetic component and the metallic component is maintained. The disruption of the magnetic connection results in closure of the umbrella, thereby protecting the umbrella from damage or complete destruction.
