Coal deactivation processing device

The present invention is provided with: a first processing device main body (111) that processes carbonized coal (1) by means of processing gas (103) of which the oxygen concentration has been adjusted by blowers (113,115); a second processing device main body (121) that processes primary processed carbonized coal (2a), which results from being processed at the first processing device main body, by means of air (102) fed by a blower (122); a second-processing-gas state detection means that detects the state of the air used within the second processing device main body; and a control device (130) that, on the basis of information from the second-processing—gas state detection means, controls the blowers (113,115) in a manner so as to adjust the oxygen concentration in the processing gas when the state of the air has diverged from a predetermined state.

COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR IMPROVED HANDLING AND COMBUSTION OF PETROLEUM PITCH

This alternative fuel is a reclaimed waste product which has a solid, particulate consistency at ambient temperature. The fuel comprises a composite of petroleum pitch and a powder coating. The powder coating penetrates into the surface of the pitch. The powder coating is recycled ash, pulverized coal, or pulverized petroleum coke.

Low sulfur fuel oil blends for stabtility enhancement and associated methods

Fuel oil compositions, and methods for blending such fuel oil compositions, to enhance initial compatibility and longer term stability when such fuel oil compositions are blended to meet IMO 2020 low sulfur fuel oil requirements (ISO 8217). In one or more embodiments, asphaltenic resid base stocks are blended with high aromatic slurry oil to facilitate initial compatibility such that low sulfur cutter stocks, e.g., vacuum gas oil and/or cycle oil, may be further blended therein to cut sulfur content while maintaining longer term stability. These fuel oil compositions are economically advantageous when used as marine low sulfur fuel oils because greater concentrations of high viscosity resids are present in the final blend.

Hydrate formation promoter and use thereof in methane storage

A hydrate formation promoter and the use thereof in methane storage. The hydrate formation promoter is a mixed aqueous solution including cyclopentane, sodium dodecyl sulfate and water, wherein a volume fraction of the cyclopentane is 5% to 23.4% and a mass fraction of the sodium dodecyl sulfate is 0.01% to 0.08%. The hydrate formation promoter can realize effective and rapid formation of methane hydrate at approximate room temperature (25° C.), and can remain stable at higher temperatures.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR HOLISTIC LOW CARBON INTENSITY FUEL PRODUCTION

Systems and methods to provide low carbon intensity (CI) transportation fuels through one or more targeted reductions of carbon emissions based upon an analysis of carbon emissions associated with a combination of various options for feedstock procurement, feedstock refining, processing, or transformation, and fuel product distribution pathways to end users. Such options are selected to maintain the total CI (carbon emissions per unit energy) of the transportation fuel below a pre-selected threshold that defines an upper limit of CI for the transportation fuel.

METHODS OF DISSOLVING GAS HYDRATES

A method of dissolving a gas hydrate in a pipeline includes introducing a gas hydrate dissolving solution into the pipeline and allowing the gas hydrate dissolving solution to at least partially dissolve the gas hydrate in the pipeline. The gas hydrate dissolving solution includes cesium formate, potassium formate, or both, and has a flash point of greater than 50° C.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR REDUCING RENDERED FATS POUR POINT

Systems and methods to reduce pour point (PP) temperatures of fat-based compositions for use in transportation fuels. In one or more embodiments, methods and systems reduce the pour point of rendered fats using biologically-derived plant oils for effectively transporting the blended fat based compositions over long distances, thereby advantageously decreasing the heating and mixing requirements needed to maintain the compositional temperature above the pour point. In certain embodiments, the fat based composition comprises rendered animal fats, such as tallow in combination with distilled corn oil (DCO).

Additives for low-sulfur marine diesel

This invention relates to a fuel oil composition, containing a low-sulfur marine diesel having a sulfur content of less than 1 wt. % and (A) at least one ethylene copolymer and (B) at least one comb polymer.
