Integration of cold solvent and acid gas removal
A method of separating impurities from a natural gas stream. The natural gas stream is cooled through heat exchange with one or more process streams to produce a chilled gas stream, which is contacted with a lean solvent stream in a contactor to separate hydrogen sulfide (H.sub.2S) from the chilled gas stream, thereby producing a rich solvent stream and a partially-treated gas stream. Carbon dioxide (CO.sub.2) and H.sub.2S are separated from the partially-treated gas stream in a membrane separation system, thereby creating a fully-treated gas stream and a permeate gas stream, the permeate gas stream being comprised primarily of H.sub.2S and CO.sub.2, and the fully-treated gas stream being comprised primarily of natural gas. The fully-treated gas stream and the permeate gas stream are at a lower temperature than the partially-treated gas stream. The fully-treated gas stream and the permeate gas stream comprise the one or more process streams.
SYSTEM AND PROCESS FOR RECOVERING METHANE AND CARBON DIOXIDE FROM BIOGAS AND REDUCING GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS
Various illustrative embodiments of a system and process for recovering high-quality biomethane and carbon dioxide product streams from biogas sources and utilizing or sequestering the product streams are provided. The system and process synergistically yield a biomethane product which meets gas pipeline quality specifications and a carbon dioxide product of a quality and form that allows for its transport and sequestration or utilization and reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. The system and process result in improved access to gas pipelines for products, an improvement in the carbon intensity rating of the methane fuel, and improvements in generation of credits related to reductions in emissions of greenhouse gases.
System for flare gas recovery using gas sweetening process
A flare gas recovery system includes a primary gas sweetening unit; and a liquid-driven ejector in continuous fluid communication with the primary gas sweetening unit. The ejector includes an inlet configured to receive a motive fluid including a regenerable amine solvent in a rich state from the primary gas sweetening unit; a gas inlet configured to receive a suction fluid including a gas; and a fluid outlet configured to either directly or indirectly discharge to the primary gas sweetening unit a two-phase fluid including a mixture of the suction fluid and the amine solvent in a rich state.
Method for separating components of a gas
A method is disclosed for separating components of a gas. A feed gas stream is cooled in the first vessel. The feed gas stream comprises methane, carbon dioxide, and a secondary component. A first portion of the secondary component condenses, desublimates, or a combination thereof to form a primary stream, resulting in a first depleted gas stream. The first depleted gas stream is cooled in a condensing exchanger such that a first portion of the methane condenses as a first liquid methane stream, resulting in a second depleted gas stream. The second depleted gas stream is cooled in the second vessel such that a first portion of the carbon dioxide desublimates to form a solid product stream, resulting in a third depleted gas stream.
LEAN GAS LNG HEAVIES REMOVAL PROCESS USING NGL
Disclosed herein are systems and processes for removing heavies during the liquefaction of a natural gas. The processes include dissolving the heavies in the natural gas by adding external natural gas liquid (NGL), followed by a staged removal of the natural gas liquid (NGL) and dissolved heavies.

STANDALONE HIGH-PRESSURE HEAVIES REMOVAL UNIT FOR LNG PROCESSING
Implementations described and claimed herein provide systems and methods for processing liquefied natural gas (LNG). In one implementation, a dry feed gas is received. The dry feed gas is chilled with clean vapor from a heavies removal column to form a chilled feed gas. The chilled feed gas is partially condensed into a vapor phase and a liquid phase. The liquid phase retains freezing components. The freezing components are extracted using a reflux stream in the heavies removal column. The freezing components are removed as a condensate. The vapor phase is compressed into a clean feed gas. The clean feed gas is free of the freezing components for downstream liquefaction.
Enhanced Acid Gas Removal Within a Gas Processing System
A gas processing system is described herein. The gas processing system includes a number of co-current contacting systems configured to contact a sour feed gas stream including an acid gas with a solvent stream to produce a partially-sweetened gas stream and a rich solvent stream including an absorbed acid gas. At least one of the co-current contacting systems is configured to send the rich solvent stream to a regenerator. The regenerator is configured to remove the absorbed acid gas from the rich solvent stream to produce a lean solvent stream. The gas processing system also includes a solvent treater configured to treat at least a portion of the lean solvent stream to produce an enhanced solvent stream, and a final co-current contacting system configured to contact the partially-sweetened gas stream with the enhanced solvent stream to produce a partially-loaded solvent stream and a final gas stream.
SYSTEMS AND PROCESSES FOR UPGRADING NATURAL GAS LIQUIDS FROM SHALE GAS
Systems and processes for upgrading natural gas liquids (NGL). A natural gas, preferably a shale gas, comprising methane and one or more natural gas liquids can be converted to one or more liquid hydrocarbons. Methane can be separated from the one or more liquid hydrocarbons using a liquid absorbent to provide a first separated stream comprising the methane from the converted stream and a second separated stream comprising the one or more liquid hydrocarbons from the converted stream. At least a portion of the one or more liquid hydrocarbons can be recycled as the liquid absorbent.
