Methods and compositions for vapor suppression
The present invention is directed to vapor suppression of liquids through disposing a layer of surfactant onto the surfaces of liquids for surfactants having a density greater than the liquid and regardless of surface tension spreadability issues, and compositions comprising the surfactants in aerosolized form.
Coalescer for co-current contractors
The disclosure includes a method, comprising passing a fluid into a co-current contactor, passing a solvent into the co-current contactor, dividing the solvent into solvent droplets having a first average droplet size, placing the fluid in contact with the solvent droplets to create a combined stream, coalescing at least a portion of the solvent droplets to create solvent droplets having a second average droplet size, wherein the second average droplet size is greater than the first average droplet size, and separating the fluid and the solvent.
Dust control formulations
This disclosure describes formulations and methods for dust control, for example, coal topping, a term which refers to the application of liquid products to the top of coal loads, such as those in open topped coal hopper railcars as commonly used today to transport coal. Disclosed herein are wax-based emulsion formulations that accomplish dust control during industrial operations in which dust handling is required.
METHOD FOR IMPROVING TRANSPORT AND HANDLING OF DUST EMITTING SOLIDS MATERIALS
Methods are provided for controlling fugitive dust emissions from a variety of granular or particulate solids materials such as coal dust. A first treatment of cationic polymer or cationic copolymer is applied to the dust. The dust is then loaded onto an open bed rail car or the like. A topping treatment comprising an aqueous dilute polymer solution or polymer latex emulsion or dispersion is applied to the exposed coal layer in the rail car.
System and Process for Producing Biomass Pellets
A system for producing biomass pellets comprising a pan mill for comminuting a biomass material, a treatment means in which the comminuted biomass material is treated with an oxidizing reactant and a pellet press for pressing pellets from the treated biomass material. The invention further relates to an associated process. The intention is to initiate during pellet production oxidation reactions which can otherwise result in autoignition of the pellets in pellet heaps.
Spent grain fuel product and process
A process of making a fuel product from spent grain from a beer brewing process. In the brewing process, the grain is pulverized to a particle size whose mean particle size is approximately 0.25 mm to 0.6 mm with less than 1% greater than 2 mm. After the brewing sugars are extracted from the grain, the spent grain is pressed against a filter to reduce moisture below sixty-five percent (65%), and then the grain is dried to further reduce its moisture to less than ten percent (10%). The dried spent grain, after the aforementioned processing, is fed into a combustion chamber for a steam boiler that is used for beer brewing, and the spent grain is separated during combustion by agitation such as spraying of the grain in the combustion chamber.
SYSTEM FOR RECOVERING NATURAL GAS LIQUID FROM LOW PRESSURE SOURCE
A system (102; 302) for recovering natural gas liquid from a low pressure gas source (110; 310), comprising a gas/gas heat exchanger (104; 304), fluid from the gas source flowing therethrough; at least one separator (108; 308) for receiving the fluid from the gas/gas heat exchanger (104; 304) and separating liquid from the gas, the gas being directed via a connecting pipe (116; 316) to the gas/gas heat exchanger (104; 304) where it cools the fluid from the gas source; characterised in that the connecting pipe (116; 316) includes expansion means (106; 322) for cooling the gas therein and liquid injection means (120; 320) for saturating the gas with liquid.
Process for producing biodiesel and related products
There is described a process for producing biodiesel and related products from mixtures. There is also described a process for producing precursors and feedstock materials for producing biodiesel and related products. The processes use esterification and trans-esterification, separation and purification. Other process steps such as acidification and distillation can also be used.
PRODUCTION METHOD OF FUEL ADDITIVE, FUEL ADDITIVE AND MIXTURE OF DIESEL AND FUEL ADDITIVE
The present invention discloses a method of producing a fuel additive comprising the following steps: mixing alcohol in water; homogenize the mixture under the influence of mechanical waves, preferably ultrasound and specific pressure; adding an oxidizing solution to the mixture; exposing the mixture to electromagnetic radiation, preferably UV; perform electrolysis with molecular sieve with specific porosity; exposing the mixture from the previous step to radiation in the microwave spectrum; and atomize the mixture in the medium of specific alcohols. The present invention aims to provide an additive with the ability to increase the amount of oxygen in the combustion reaction inside a combustion chamber. Another objective of the present invention is to provide a fuel additive capable of generating, after the combustion reaction, nitrous compounds for lubricating the metallic surfaces of the engine.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SYNTHESIS AND PRODUCTION OF ENERGETIC PARTICLES
A method of synthesis of energetic particles, and associated systems, the method including providing a metal powder, dispersing the metal powder in a first fluid to form a first suspension, contacting the first suspension with an oxide precursor, aqueous ammonium hydroxide and a second fluid, to produce a first product, collecting product solids and inductively heating product solids to produce energetic core-shell particles.
