A system and method for a multi-chamber biomass reactor that includes: a reaction chamber, comprising the primary chamber for biomass processing; an outlet chamber, adjacent and connected to the reaction chamber; a biomass inlet, comprising a region for the input of biomass into the biomass reactor; a conveyor system, comprising components that actuate the biomass, and other components, through the biomass reactor from the biomass inlet through the reaction chamber, and through the outlet chamber; and a gas exchange system, that controls gas flow within the biomass reactor, comprising: at least one air vent; and an exhaust. The system functions to process biomass, whereby the system converts input biomass into energy rich products, such as coal, char, bio-fuel, fertilizer, briquettes, electricity. The system and method may further include a variable incline module, comprising actuating components that can alter the incline and/or height of the biomass reactor and/or biomass reactor components.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR HOLISTIC LOW CARBON INTENSITY FUEL PRODUCTION

The present disclosure generally relates to systems and methods utilizing regenerative agriculture for the procurement, production, refinement and/or transformation of low carbon intensity transportation fuels, including low carbon intensity biodiesel and/or renewable diesel, low carbon intensity biogasoline, low carbon intensity aviation, marine and kerosene fuels as well as fuel oil blends, low carbon intensity ethanol, and low carbon intensity hydrogen, that may be beneficially commercialized directly to consumers. In further aspects, the systems and methods of the present disclosure advantageously generate low carbon intensity comestibles, including sustainably-sourced meal and/or feed. The disclosed systems and methods may be utilized and optimized such that the resulting fuels and foodstuffs are characterized by a reduction in greenhouse gas production and a diminution in the fertilizer, pesticide and water required for producing the associated crop feedstocks.

Traditional residential and industrial furnace systems convert the chemical energy of liquid and gas fuels into thermal energy and, in some earlier applications, also into electric energy. This process is driven by a burner specifically designed and built. Often these systems operate at high temperatures, high pressures and relatively lower efficiency levels. The field of present invention generally relates to furnaces that combine the fuel production to the both thermal either electrical energy production. More particularly, the present invention produces a combustible gas that, within the internal workings of the present invention, and can efficiently be burned without the production of high levels of pollutants, at relatively lower temperatures and pressures. The foregoing characteristics, along with the limited size of the elements needed to practice the present invention, make it conducive for use as and in connection with, among other things, residential furnaces and other heating systems, including, for example, heat exchangers and residential hot water tanks. In short, the present invention involves the production of a combustible fuel gas, thermal and electric energy. This production is accomplished through the interconnected use of water electrolysis, catalysts, storage means, regulation, and mean of reusing materials to increase production efficiencies.

DYNAMIC LEAK DETECTION SYSTEM IN PROPANE HEAT EXCHANGERS

Systems and processes for detecting leaks into a refrigeration system having a heat exchanger where the process side is configured to operate at a higher pressure than the refrigerant side. The system includes a refrigerant circulation system including a refrigerant feed pipe fluidly connected to and configured to provide a refrigerant to an inlet of the refrigerant side of the heat exchanger, as well as a refrigerant effluent pipe fluidly connected to and configured to receive a refrigerant from an outlet of the refrigerant side of the heat exchanger. One or more sensors are provided, the sensors being configured to measure a property of the refrigerant, such as temperature, pressure, or flow rate, for example. Additionally, the system for detecting leaks includes a digital control system configured to provide an alert when a signal from at least one of the one or more sensors is indicative of a leak from the process side of the heat exchanger to the refrigerant side of the heat exchanger.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR OPERATING AN ADSORPTION-BASED SYSTEM FOR REMOVING WATER FROM A PROCESS STREAM

A method for operating an adsorption-based system for removing water and potentially other components from a feed stream. The system includes at least two dehydration units each comprising an adsorption bed. The method includes the steps of: i) obtaining process data from one or more sensors at a predetermined time resolution, the sensors at least comprising at least one moisture sensor at a specified location in each of the dehydration units; ii) dehydrating the feed stream by operating the adsorption-based system in regenerative mode, wherein at least one active unit of the at least two dehydration units is in an adsorption cycle, and wherein at least another one of the at least two dehydration units is being regenerated; iii) estimating an adsorption bed water adsorption capacity during every adsorption cycle; and iv) using the process data to update the estimated adsorption bed water adsorption capacity.

Provided is a fuel reforming system (1) equipped with a reformer (15) having a reforming catalyst (152) that uses air to reform gasoline to produce alcohol, a mixer (14) which mixes gasoline and air and supplies the mixture to the reformer (15), and a condenser (16) which separates the gas produced in the reformer (15) into a gas phase and a condensed phase of which reformed fuel is the primary constituent; wherein the fuel reforming system (1) is characterized in that the reforming catalyst (152) is configured including a main catalyst for extracting hydrogen atoms from the hydrocarbons in the gasoline to produce alkyl radicals, and a catalytic promoter for reducing alkyl hydroperoxides produced from the alkyl radicals to produce alcohol.

Process for producing high-carbon biogenic reagents

This invention provides processes and systems for converting biomass into high carbon biogenic reagents that are suitable for a variety of commercial applications. Some embodiments employ pyrolysis in the presence of an inert gas to generate hot pyrolyzed solids, condensable vapors, and non-condensable gases, followed by separation of vapors and gases, and cooling of the hot pyrolyzed solids in the presence of the inert gas. Additives may be introduced during processing or combined with the reagent, or both. The biogenic reagent may include at least 70 wt %, 80 wt %, 90 wt %, 95 wt %, or more total carbon on a dry basis. The biogenic reagent may have an energy content of at least 12,000 Btu/lb, 13,000 Btu/lb, 14,000 Btu/lb, or 14,500 Btu/lb on a dry basis. The biogenic reagent may be formed into fine powders, or structural objects. The structural objects may have a structure and/or strength that derive from the feedstock, heat rate, and additives.

A system including biogas purification and provides biogas as feedstock to a solid oxide fuel cell. The biogas purification treatment process provides a polished biogas that is substantially free of carbonyl sulfides and hydrogen sulfide. The system uses a biogas treatment apparatus, that includes apparatus such as a packed columns, comprising copper oxide or potassium permanganate packing material, and an activated carbon component configured to treat the biogas by polishing it to remove carbonyl sulfides and deleterious trace residues, such as hydrogen sulfide, that were not removed by any prior bulk H2S removal steps. In addition, an oil removal device is used to remove any entrained fine oil droplets in the biogas. A polished biogas having in the range of 60% methane is charged to the fuel cell. Electricity generated may be fed into a grid or used directly as energy to charge electrical-powered vehicles, for example. Energy credits are tracked in real time and are appropriately assigned.

The present disclosure provides a method for separating a feed stream in a distillation tower. The method may include forming solids in a controlled freeze zone section of the distillation tower; emitting radiation from a first radiation source in the controlled freeze zone section while the controlled freeze zone section forms no solids; detecting radiation emitted by the first radiation source as a first radiation level; detecting radiation emitted by the first radiation source as a second radiation level after detecting the first radiation level; and determining whether the solids adhered to at least one of on and around a first mechanical component included in the controlled freeze zone section based on the first radiation level and the second radiation level.
