Low Zinc Lubricant Composition
The disclosed technology relates to lubricants for compression ignition internal combustion engines, particularly those demonstrating at least one of improved seals performance, reduced deposit formation, and excellent durability. The present invention provides a low zinc lubricating composition comprising (a) an oil of lubricating viscosity, (b) a borated dispersant, and (c) a metal-free organo-phosphorus anti-wear additive, wherein the lubricating composition is substantially free of a metal containing sulfur coupled alkyl phenol compound. Further, the low zinc lubricating composition contains zinc in an amount less than 600 ppm by weight of the composition.

Composition and Method of Manufacturing Sulfonate-Based Greases Using a Glycerol Derivative
A sulfonate-based grease composition and method of manufacture comprising the addition of one or more glycerol derivatives. The glycerol derivative acts to optimally disperse the thickener in the grease such that the conventional step of milling the grease may not be needed. The glycerol derivative reacts with water to form in-situ complexing acids, which may replace at least some of the normally used complexing acids for reacting with calcium containing bases. The greases according to preferred embodiments have a high dropping point, improved thickener yield, and faster conversion time.

Grease composition and grease-sealed roller bearing
Provided is a grease composition which can be used as a lubricant for roller bearings, exhibits excellent high temperature durability and rust preventive property, and can prevent premature flaking on the rolling surface due to hydrogen embrittlement. A roller bearing 1 is obtained by sealing a grease composition 7 in the periphery of a rolling element 4, this grease composition 7 is composed of a base oil excluding an ester-based synthetic oil, a thickener, and an additive, the additive contains (a) an alkanolamine and (b) 2,2,4-trimethyl-1,2-dihydroquinoline or a polymer thereof but does not contain an organic sulfonate, and (a) and (b) are contained at from 0.1 to 10 parts by weight with respect to 100 parts by weight of a total amount of the base oil and the thickener, respectively.
