LUBRICANT COMPOSITION
A lubricating oil composition containing a base oil (A), a molybdenum-based friction modifier (B), a metal-based detergent (C), and a dispersant (D), in which the dispersant (D) contains a non-boron-modified polyisobutenyl succinic bisimide (D1). The IR spectrum of the non-boron-modified polyisobutenyl succinic bisimide (D1) is determined by an FT-IR method, having a ratio [Abs (1705 cm.sup.?1)/Abs (1390 cm.sup.?1)] of a peak intensity Abs (1705 cm.sup.?1) at 1705 cm.sup.?1 to a peak intensity Abs (1390 cm.sup.?1) at 1390 cm.sup.?1 is 7.5 or less. A content of the non-boron-modified polyisobutenyl succinic bisimide (D1) is 50 mass % or more based on a total amount of the dispersant (D), and contains a kinematic viscosity at 100? C. is 9.3 mm.sup.2/s or less. The lubricating oil composition has an excellent effect of reducing a friction coefficient while containing a molybdenum-based friction modifier and a succinimide compound.

Rapid cure silicone lubricious coatings
Novel, lubricious coatings for medical devices are disclosed. The coatings provide improved lubricity and durability, and are readily applied in coating processes. The present invention is also directed to a novel platinum catalyst for use in such coatings. The catalyst provides for rapid curing, while inhibiting cross-linking at ambient temperatures, thereby improving the production pot life of the coatings.

LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITIONS WITH WEAR AND SLUDGE CONTROL
A method for improving wear control and sludge control, while maintaining or improving fuel efficiency, of a lubricating oil in an engine or other mechanical component lubricated with the lubricating oil by using as the lubricating oil a formulated oil. The formulated oil has a composition including a lubricating oil base stock as a major component, and at least one lubricating oil additive, as a minor component. The at least one lubricating oil additive includes a zirconium-containing compound. The zirconium-containing compound is present in an amount from about 0.1 to about 1200 parts per million (ppm). The zirconium-containing compound is soluble in the lubricating oil base stock. The lubricating oil is useful as a passenger vehicle engine oil (PVEO), a commercial vehicle engine oil (CVEO), and other lubricating oils (hydraulic, gear, transmission, etc.).
