LUBRICATING OILS AND GREASES
A lubricating oil composition comprises an amide and at least one additive. A lubricating grease composition comprises a liquid amide, a thickener comprising a metal soap, and at least one additive. The amide in each composition is the reaction product of a secondary, branched amine and a carboxylic acid. The carboxylic acid may be a monocarboxylic acid or a dicarboxylic acid, including dimer acid. The amide is hydrolytically stable, and may be used to increase the hydrolytic stability of the lubricant oil or grease composition. Alternatively, the amide may be used to increase the additive solubility or detergency of the lubricant oil or grease composition.

FRICTION MODIFIER SYSTEM
This disclosure describes a lubricant additive. The additive is a friction modifier that includes a molybdenum containing compound and a tertiary amine-containing composition having the following structure:

wherein each R.sup.1 and R.sup.5 is independently a linear or branched-chain monovalent hydrocarbyl group having one to about twenty carbon atoms, wherein each R.sup.2, R.sup.3, and R.sup.4 is independently a hydrogen, a linear or branched-chain monovalent hydrocarbyl group having one to about twenty carbon atoms, each m is independently from 0 and 4, each p is independently from 0 and 4, for each cyclic moiety m+p is from 2 and 4, and each n is independently from 1 and 6.
FRICTION MODIFIER SYSTEM
This disclosure describes a lubricant additive. The additive is a friction modifier that includes a molybdenum containing compound and a tertiary amine-containing composition having the following structure:

wherein each R.sup.1 and R.sup.5 is independently a linear or branched-chain monovalent hydrocarbyl group having one to about twenty carbon atoms, wherein each R.sup.2, R.sup.3, and R.sup.4 is independently a hydrogen, a linear or branched-chain monovalent hydrocarbyl group having one to about twenty carbon atoms, each m is independently from 0 and 4, each p is independently from 0 and 4, for each cyclic moiety m+p is from 2 and 4, and each n is independently from 1 and 6.
LUBRICATING COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF OPERATING AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
The instant disclosure generally relates to lubricating compositions having an oil of lubricating viscosity, a boron-containing additive, a boron-free dispersant, an overbased magnesium-based detergent, an overbased calcium-based detergent, an ashless friction modifier, and, optionally, other performance additives. The instant lubricating composition has a High Temperature High Shear (HTHS) viscosity according to ASTM D4683 of less than 2.7 mPa s. The instant lubricating compositions disclosed herein may accomplish one or more of the following improve fuel economy, reduce corrosion, reduce oxidation, improve cleanliness, and improve wear performance of an internal combustion engine.
LUBRICATING COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF OPERATING AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
The instant disclosure generally relates to lubricating compositions having an oil of lubricating viscosity, a boron-containing additive, a boron-free dispersant, an overbased magnesium-based detergent, an overbased calcium-based detergent, an ashless friction modifier, and, optionally, other performance additives. WATER-SOLUBLE METALWORKING FLUID
Provided is a water-soluble metalworking oil comprising a base oil (A) comprising oil-soluble polyalkylene glycol (A1), wherein a total content of water-soluble polyalkylene glycol and methoxypolyethylene glycol is less than 60% by mass based on the total amount excluding water.
WATER-SOLUBLE METALWORKING FLUID
Provided is a water-soluble metalworking oil comprising a base oil (A) comprising oil-soluble polyalkylene glycol (A1), wherein a total content of water-soluble polyalkylene glycol and methoxypolyethylene glycol is less than 60% by mass based on the total amount excluding water.
