The present invention relates to the use of highly viscous (per)fluoropolyether polymers as damping fluids and to a method for counteract vibrations and/or shocks in a device using highly viscous (per)fluoropolyether polymers.

FLUORINE-CONTAINING ETHER MONOCARBOXYLIC ACID AMINOALKYL ESTER AND A METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
A fluorine-containing ether monocarboxylic acid aminoalkyl ester represented by the general formula:

Such a fluorine-containing ether monocarboxylic acid ester having an amino group at the end of the ester group is produced by reacting a perfluoroether carboxylic acid fluoride compound C.sub.nF.sub.2n+1O[CF(CF.sub.3)CF.sub.2O].sub.1CF(CF.sub.3)COF and a hydroxyalkyl amine compound HO(CH.sub.2).sub.bNR.sup.1R.sup.2 in the presence of an alkali metal fluoride.
Lubricating thermoplastic resin composition and formed article thereof
[Object] To provide lubricating thermoplastic resin compositions that can give formed articles exhibiting excellent lubricating properties and surface appearance and maintaining the lubricating properties permanently. [Solution] The lubricating thermoplastic resin composition includes an acid-modified copolymer (A) of a monomer mixture including an aromatic vinyl and a vinyl cyanide, the copolymer having a carboxyl group in the molecular chain, and a functionalized lubricant (B) having, in the molecule, a functional group (B1) capable of reacting with the carboxyl group and a lubricating segment (B2) having lubricating properties. The composition may further include a graft copolymer (C) and/or an additional thermoplastic resin (D) other than the acid-modified copolymer (A).
Lubricating thermoplastic resin composition and formed article thereof
[Object] To provide lubricating thermoplastic resin compositions that can give formed articles exhibiting excellent lubricating properties and surface appearance and maintaining the lubricating properties permanently. [Solution] The lubricating thermoplastic resin composition includes an acid-modified copolymer (A) of a monomer mixture including an aromatic vinyl and a vinyl cyanide, the copolymer having a carboxyl group in the molecular chain, and a functionalized lubricant (B) having, in the molecule, a functional group (B1) capable of reacting with the carboxyl group and a lubricating segment (B2) having lubricating properties. The composition may further include a graft copolymer (C) and/or an additional thermoplastic resin (D) other than the acid-modified copolymer (A).

The invention pertains to certain (per)fluoropolyether triazine derivatives comprising at least one triazine group and at least one fluoropolyoxyalkene chain (chain R.sub.f) comprising a fluorocarbon segment having ether linkages in main chain, said chain R.sub.f comprising at least one hydroxyl group, to a method for their manufacture and to their use in lubrication, in particular for lubricating sliding or moving parts of magnetic recording media.
