Process for friction reduction during ethanol transport

This invention involves a process for reducing friction in ethanol during its transport through pipelines. This process involves combining ethanol with a polymer-based composition, characterized in that the polymer is obtained from at least 50 mol % of at least one monomer selected from the group comprising N-substituted acrylamides, N-substituted methacrylamides, N,N-substituted acrylamides, N,N-substituted methacrylamides, substituted acrylates and substituted methacrylates.

Mixture of polymers, lubricating fluid and porous materials comprising said mixture, and surface bearing said mixture

A mixture of polymers with lubricating properties is provided. The polymer can be used to produce a lubricating fluid. They can also be born on a surface or embedded in a porous material. This mixture of polymers comprises (a) a pharmaceutically acceptable bottle-brush polymer comprising a backbone with polymeric pendant chains, and (b) a pharmaceutically acceptable linear polymer. In the lubricating fluid, the bottle-brush polymer and the linear polymer are dissolved together in a pharmaceutically acceptable solvent.

A method for performing a coiled-tubing process, the method having the steps: performing a coiled-tubing process using a fluid-lubricant composition that includes a sulfur-containing compound, and introducing the fluid-lubricant composition into a subterranean wellbore casing.

Completion Fluid Friction Reducer

A method and composition for reducing a coefficient of friction are disclosed. In an embodiment, a method for reducing a coefficient of friction between two surfaces in a borehole includes preparing a mixture comprising a primary lubricating agent, a primary surfactant, a spreading agent, and an aqueous fluid. The method also includes pumping the mixture into the borehole such that the mixture contacts the two surfaces and reduces the coefficient of friction for the two surfaces.

The present invention generally relates to the method of using corn syrup to improve the inversion properties of water-in-oil (w/o) friction reducing polymers.

LUBRICANT COMPOSITION FOR LAPPING CERAMIC MATERIAL, AND RELATED METHODS
20170233677 · 2017-08-17 ·

Disclosed herein are embodiments of a method of making a lubricant composition for lapping a ceramic material. The method includes mixing a base lubricant component and a powdered wax composition component to form the lubricant composition. The powdered wax composition component includes a powdered wax dispersion or a powdered wax emulsion. The amount of powdered wax composition component mixed with the base lubricant component is from 0.01 to 10 percent by weight of the lubricant composition. Also disclosed herein are embodiments of related lubricant compositions and/or methods of using the lubricant to lap a ceramic substrate (e.g., one or more bars of sliders).

System, composition and method of application of same for reducing the coefficient of friction and required pulling force during installation of wire or cable

A composition and method for reducing the coefficient of friction and required pulling force of a wire or cable are provided. A composition of aqueous emulsion is provided that is environmentally friendly, halogen free and solvent free. The composition is compatible with various types of insulating materials and may be applied after the wire or cable is cooled and also by spraying or submerging the wire or cable in a bath. The composition contains lubricating agents that provide lower coefficient of friction for wire or cable installation and continuous wire or cable surface lubrication thereafter.

CONVEYOR LUBRICANTS INCLUDING EMULSION OF A LIPOPHILIC COMPOUND AND AN EMULSIFIER AND/OR AN ANIONIC SURFACTANT AND METHODS EMPLOYING THEM

The present invention relates to conveyor lubricant compositions including an emulsion of a lipophilic compound and also including an emulsifier and/or an anionic surfactant. The present invention also relates to methods employing such lubricant compositions. In an embodiment, the method includes applying the present lubricant composition to a conveyor with a non-energized nozzle.
