Compositions for Engine Carbon Removal from Lubricated components
The engine lubricating system can become contaminated with carbon deposits and sludge. Sludge is where the combustion by-products that have entered the oil base saturate this oil base, thus forming a thick carbon rich substance. Sludge is not wanted within the engine. Sludge and or carbon deposits in the motor oil cause problems. Such carbon deposits form in the motor oil from heat, pressure, and namely combustion gases that have leaked pasted the piston rings. Turpentine and terpenes, hereafter referred to as terpenes, have shown that these chemicals can breakdown carbon which has been deposited within the engine's oil base.
Apparatus and Method for Regenerating Lubricating Oil
An apparatus includes a lubricating oil tank storing a lubricating oil. An oil separator separates the lubricating oil from a working fluid discharged from an expander of a waste heat recovery system. A lubricating oil return conduit is connected between the oil separator and the lubricating oil tank. A working fluid return conduit is connected between the lubricating oil tank and the oil separator. A vaporizer unit is installed in the lubricating oil tank to vaporize a liquefied working fluid mixed with the separated lubricating oil in the lubricating oil tank.
PREVENTION OF DEPOSITS ON ENGINE COMPONENTS
A fuel and/or lubricant system for an engine can include an engine component configured to be in fluid communication with the fuel and/or lubricant, and an alternating current (AC) source electrically connected to the engine component to create an electric field of alternating polarity to subject particles within the fuel and/or lubricant to dielectrophoresis as the fuel and/or lubricant passes through the electric field to prevent deposits from forming on the engine component. In certain embodiments, the engine component can be a filter screen configured to filter the fuel and/or lubricant to subject particles within the fuel and/or lubricant to dielectrophoresis as the fuel and/or lubricant passes through the filter screen.

METHOD OF LUBRICATING AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
The invention provides a method of lubricating an internal combustion engine equipped with a centrifugal oil mist separator, wherein the lubricant contains 0.1 wt % to 8 wt % soot resulting from operation of the engine, and wherein the lubricant composition comprises an oil of lubricating viscosity, and 0.2 wt % to 3 wt % of a soot dispersing additive having a shear stability index of 0 to 25, wherein the soot dispersing additive comprises a block copolymer comprising (i) a vinyl aromatic monomer block and (ii), a conjugated diene olefin monomer block.
Process for reducing the total acidity of refrigerating compositions
The present invention relates to a process for reducing the total acidity of refrigerating compositions comprising at least one refrigerant with at least one lubricant, said process comprising at least one stage of bringing said composition into contact with at least one zeolitic adsorbent based on powder formed of zeolite(s) or on agglomerates formed of zeolite(s).
PROCESSING METHOD AND PURIFICATION SYSTEM
A processing method includes processing a metal wire rod using an emulsion lubricant that includes an oil and a nonionic surfactant at an oil-to-nonionic surfactant ratio of 1:0.3 to 0.9 (in mass ratio). The method may include purifying the emulsion lubricant after being used for processing the metal wire rod while maintaining the oil-to-nonionic surfactant ratio of 1:0.3 to 0.9 (in mass ratio) and then reusing the purified emulsion lubricant to process the metal wire rod.
LUBRICATING OIL PURIFICATION SYSTEM AND LUBRICATING OIL PURIFICATION METHOD
A lubricating oil purification system for purifying a stock solution mixed with ammonia water into lubricating oil, the lubricating oil purification system includes: an engine; a lubricating oil purifier configured to separate a stock solution containing the lubricating oil used in the engine into a light liquid which is at least the purified lubricating oil and a heavy liquid containing ammonia; and a water supply unit configured to supply water into a separation chamber during operation of the lubricating oil purifier.
