Coating solutions, coatings formed therefrom, and coated medical devices
A method of making a coating solution includes the steps of polymerising an initial monomer feed comprising an N-vinyl pyrrolidone and an acrylate, preferably methacrylate, salt in water to synthesise a copolymer thereof, acidifying the resulting copolymer-water mixture to give free carboxylic acid groups along the copolymer backbone, diluting the aqueous solution down with alcohol, and adding a cross-linking agent which is capable of reacting with the carboxylic acid groups and curing the copolymer at a later stage after the coating solution has been applied to a substrate and the copolymer coated thereon. Also disclosed are a coating solution in storage, a method of coating a substrate which is on, or is part of, a medical device or other article, a substrate, article or medical device having a coating so applied, and a coated medical device packaged in a hydration solution. The aqueous-alcoholic coating solution may be stored for an extended period, suitably for at least one month and desirably for substantially longer, without deteriorating.
SODIUM ALKYL PG-DIMONIUM CHLORIDE PHOSPHATES AS LUBRICATING AGENTS IN AQUEOUS BASED DRILLING FLUIDS
An aqueous based drilling fluid that exhibits improved lubricity, containing a phospholipid lubricant component and methods of improving the lubricity of an aqueous based drilling fluids. The methods include improving the lubricity of an aqueous based drilling fluid composed of an aqueous base fluid, and a weighting agent, with the addition of an effective amount of a phospholipid to substantially reduce the coefficient of friction when compared to the fluid absent the phospholipids.
Lubricating Agent Solution, Magnetic Disk And Method For Manufacturing Same
Provided is a lubricant solution capable of being applied to a magnetic disk without use of a fluorine solvent. A lubricant solution in accordance with an aspect of the present invention includes: water; and a perfluoropolyether compound that satisfies Expression (I) below:
N.sub.OH/(Mn/1500)≥2 (1), where N.sub.OH represents the number of hydroxyl groups per molecule of the perfluoropolyether compound and Mn represents a number average molecular weight of the perfluoropolyether compound.
LUBRICANT, ELECTRIC CONTACT, CONNECTOR TERMINAL, AND WIRE HARNESS
Provided are a lubricant whereby particles including a fluororesin can be dispersed and adhered to the surface of an object without the use of a fluorine-based oil as a base oil, an electrical contact having such a lubricant on the surface thereof, and a connector terminal and a wire harness provided with such an electrical contact. The present invention provides a lubricant containing a base oil and resin particles including a trifluoroethylene resin, the content of the resin particles being more than 10 mass % with respect to the mass of the base oil. The present invention also provides an electrical contact 1 which has a metal material as a base material 11 and which electrically contacts another electroconductive member 2, the electrical contact 1 having a layer 14 of the abovementioned lubricant on the surface of the base material. The present invention furthermore provides a connector terminal having the abovementioned electrical contact 1 in a portion thereof for making electrical contact with a mating connector terminal. The present invention also provides a wire harness having the connector terminal.
