The present invention relates to a lubricating composition containing (a) an oil of lubricating viscosity; and (b) a compound selected from the group consisting of: (i) an ester-containing heterocycle; (ii) an amide-containing heterocycle; and (iii) a pyrimidine, wherein the ester-containing heterocycle and the amide-containing heterocycle have a hydrocarbyl group containing 6 to 40 carbon atoms. The invention further provides for a method of supplying an internal combustion engine with the lubricating composition.

The present invention relates to an electric discharge machining oil composition and an electric discharge machining method capable of enhancing machining speed in electric discharge machining. This electric discharge machining oil composition is characterized by including (A) a base oil, and (B) one or more types of petroleum resin selected from hydrogenated products of copolymers of dicyclopentadiene and an aromatic compound and having a softening point of 75 to 185 C. and a mean molecular weight (Mn) of 670 to 3000, wherein the kinematic viscosity of the electric discharge machining oil composition at 40 C. is 1 to 10 mm.sup.2/s. Further, the electric discharge machining method is characterized by employing said electric discharge machining oil composition, and includes interposing the electric discharge machining oil composition between a workpiece and an electrode, and generating an electric discharge between the workpiece and the electrode in this state to machine the workpiece.

The disclosed technology relates to a dispersant composition comprising the reaction product of a polyolefin acylating agent and a polyamine having a sterically hindered head group. In addition, the technology relates to lubricating compositions containing the dispersant composition and an oil of lubricating viscosity, as well as methods of employing the lubricating composition in an engine and engine oils. Lubricating oils containing the dispersants of the disclosed technology simultaneously achieves seal compatibility, wear, deposit, varnish and corrosion control while also maintaining fuel economy performance over a broad temperature range.
