System, composition and method of application of same for reducing the coefficient of friction and required pulling force during installation of wire or cable
A composition and method for reducing the coefficient of friction and required pulling force of a wire or cable are provided. A composition of aqueous emulsion is provided that is environmentally friendly, halogen free and solvent free. The composition is compatible with various types of insulating materials and may be applied after the wire or cable is cooled and also by spraying or submerging the wire or cable in a bath. The composition contains lubricating agents that provide lower coefficient of friction for wire or cable installation and continuous wire or cable surface lubrication thereafter.
COATING COMPOSITIONS FOR ORIENTED STRAND BOARDS AND ASSOCIATED METHODS OF USE
Wax compositions are provided with improved properties for various applications, such as coating of composite cellulosic materials, e.g., composite wood material, more specifically oriented strand board. As described herein, wax compositions include a kinematic viscosity measured at 100 C. of 13.1 mm.sup.2/s; and a contact angle on glass of 34.4, which provide enhanced water proofing properties. The wax composition may have a flash point of greater than 450 F. Wax composition are provided with improved properties for candle jars. As described herein, candle jar wax compositions include 150N foots oil and 600N slack wax. The wax composition can include up to about 80% 150N foots oil.
LUBRICANT-COATED GALVANIZED STEEL SHEET AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
A galvanized steel sheet to be subjected to complicated and difficult press forming is provided. A method for producing such a galvanized steel sheet is also provided. On a surface of a galvanized steel sheet having a metallic zinc layer with a coating weight of 5 g/m.sup.2 or more, a film is formed that contains 10 mass % or more of a polyolefin wax having a melting point of 120 C. or above and 140 C. or below and an average particle size of 3.0 m or less, and at least one organic resin selected from acrylic resins, epoxy resins, urethane resins, phenolic resins, vinyl acetate resins, and polyester resins, in such a way that the coating weight W (g/m.sup.2) of the film per side and the arithmetic average roughness Ra (m) of the surface of the metallic zinc layer satisfy a relationship of W0.12Ra.sup.2+0.1.
STEEL SHEET AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A steel sheet having a lubrication film that is to be subjected to complex forming in which press forming is difficult, and a method for manufacturing the steel sheet, are disclosed. The steel sheet has an organic resin coating film which has an indentation reduced Young's modulus of 20 GPa or higher and 50 GPa or lower and an indentation hardness of 0.5 GPa or higher and 1.5 GPa or lower or which has an indentation reduced Young's modulus of 10 GPa or higher and less than 20 GPa and an indentation hardness of 0.2 GPa or higher and 0.5 GPa or lower and which has a coating weight per side of 0.2 g/m.sup.2 or more and 2.0 g/m.sup.2 or less on a surface thereof.
WATER BASED SEMI-SYNTHETIC METAL WORKING FLUID COMPOSITION CONTAINING AN ALKYL ALCOHOL AMINE
The current invention relates to a novel class of alkyl alcohol amines where the amine is a primary amine. Embodiments relate to a method of controlling microbial growth in metal working fluids, comprising adding such an alkyl alcohol amine to the metal working fluid. Other embodiments relate to semi-synthetic metal working fluid compositions which include the microbial growth control agent comprising this particular class of alkyl alcohol amines.
WATER-BASED LUBRICATING COATING AGENT WITH EXCELLENT CORROSION RESISTANCE AND WORKABILITY, AND METAL MATERIAL
A water-based lubricating coating agent includes a water-soluble silicate (A) and at least one water-soluble inorganic salt (B) selected from a tungstate, a phosphate and a borate, wherein the water-soluble silicate (A) and the at least one water-soluble inorganic salt (B) are blended such that a solid content mass ratio (B)/(A) falls within a range of 0.7 to 25.
UTILIZATION OF TRANSGENIC HIGH OLEIC SOYBEAN OIL IN INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS
Oil compositions derived from transgenic soybeans having a high concentration of oleic acid are described for use in various applications including use to enhance the low temperature pour characteristics of engine fluids. Such oil compositions are useful as lubricants, rail curve grease and engine penetrants.
Threaded tubular component and resulting connection
The invention concerns a threaded tubular component for drilling or working hydrocarbon wells, said tubular component having at one of its ends (1; 2) a threaded zone (3; 4) produced on its outer or inner peripheral surface depending on whether the threaded end is male or female in type, characterized in that at least a portion of the end (1; 2) is coated with a lubricating dry film (12) the matrix (13) of which comprises at least one migrating sliding agent (9) belonging to the oils or waxes family and principally distributed at the surface of the lubricating dry film (12) such that the coefficient of friction of the film (12) is less than 0.07 at loads of less than 40 N while the coefficient of friction of the film (12) is more than 0.1 at loads of more than 200 N.
