A customizable backpack and method of use is described. Embodiments of the customizable backpack can include a pack body, a pack flap, a first panel, and a second panel. The first panel can be coupled to the pack body via the pack flap and the second panel can be removably attached to the first panel. One or more fastening mechanisms can be implemented to couple the first panel to the pack flap. Decorative objects can be removably attached to the first panel and to the second panel to customize the backpack. In a typical implementation, a user can decorate the first panel and the second panel with one or more decorative objects and/or utilitarian objects. The user can then decide which side of the first panel or the second panel to face outwardly when wearing the backpack.

Handbags with interchangeable covers and methods for customizing handbags

Handbags, including soft handbags, are easily customizable by attaching or changing handbag covers of virtually any design. The handbag covers can include, at least in part, an essentially collapsible material, and are relatively small and easily stored. Accordingly, the aesthetic and design of handbags can be easily altered without requiring the purchase of different handbags of different styles. In at least one implementation of the present invention, the handbag covers essentially envelope the base handbag. Additionally, one or more implementations of the present invention include handbag covers that attach to a base handbag via a plurality of attachment forces.

A zipper is disposed on the carrier to run through the top carrier panel to separate the top carrier panel into first and second sides, and to run partially down the short side carrier panels. Alternating connectors are disposed along an exterior of an upper portion of side panels. The handbag has a bottom panel connected to short and long side panels. Alternating male and female connectors are disposed along an interior of an upper portion of the side panels. The carrier is inserted into the handbag and is secure via corresponding alternating male and female connectors.

The cover also includes a series of interconnection-receiving apertures near its top edge that each accommodate a two-connector interconnection to hold the cover onto the base bag.

A handbag system includes an inner bag and at least one outer shell. The inner bag has a compartment into which items can be placed and a handle with a first end and a second end. The first end is fixed to a first position on the inner bag while the second end is unfixed but has a first fastener. A corresponding second fastener is fixed to a second position on the inner bag to releasably connect with the first fastener. The outer shell defines an inner volume that accepts the inner bag and has a first and second openings corresponding to the first and second positions of the inner bag. The second end of the handle is passable through the first and second openings to releasably secure to the inner bag via the second fastener.
