An expandable luggage includes a compartment and a cover. The cover is swingly attached to the compartment to close and open the compartment. The compartment includes a bottom surface and a peripheral wall vertically extending from a periphery of the bottom surface, defining the compartment with a closable opening. Further, the cover includes a top surface and a protrusion vertically extending from a periphery of the top surface so that the protrusion coordinates with the compartment when the cover closes the closable opening. The expandable luggage includes a horizontally expandable gusseted arrangement configured along the entire peripheral wall of the compartment to horizontally expand a size of the compartment from all sides thereof and accessible from the closable opening.

COLLAPSIBLE SUITCASE DEVICE

A collapsible suitcase includes a main body having a rigid back panel, top, bottom, front, and rear panels. A frame is connected to the panels opposite to the back panel, and a cover is connected to one side of the frame. A liner bag is removably positioned within the main body. The main body transitions between an expanded configuration and a collapsed configuration. In the expanded configuration, the top, bottom, front, and rear panels extend orthogonal to the back panel. In the collapsed configuration the top, bottom, front and rear panels are folded inward and are positioned within the interior space of the main body. A folding wheelbase having a plurality of casters is hingedly connected to rigid back panel. In the open position the casters extend outward from the bottom panel, and in the closed position the casters are positioned against the back panel.

A transport assembly is mounted to the case assembly to facilitate movement thereof. A smart handle assembly is also mounted to a case assembly. The smart handle assembly includes a controller having a wireless communication interface, and further includes a power supply. A smart luggage system also includes a smart luggage mobile interface which is operative on a mobile device, and is communicative with a controller of a smart handle assembly via a wireless communication interface.
