LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION FOR CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION
A lubricating oil composition for a continuously variable transmission including: (A) a lubricant base oil; (B) a borate ester compound in an amount of 25 to 500 mass ppm in terms of boron on the basis of the total mass of the composition; (C) phosphoric acid in an amount of 100 to 750 mass ppm in terms of phosphorus on the basis of the total mass of the composition; (D) a poly(meth)acrylate having a weight average molecular weight of no more than 100,000, wherein the lubricating oil composition has a kinematic viscosity at 40 C. of no more than 25 mm.sup.2/s.
GREASE COMPOSITION
It is an object of the present invention to provide a grease composition, for an outer ring rotation type rolling bearing, which is capable of satisfying all of high-temperature durability, low-temperature property, peeling resistance, and rust-preventive property. A grease composition (7) to be enclosed in the outer rig rotation type rolling bearing for use in automotive electric auxiliary machines contains base oil, a thickener, a peeling-resistant additive, a wear-resistant additive, and a rust-preventive agent. The base oil is mixed oil of trimellitic acid ester oil and synthetic hydrocarbon oil mixed therewith in a mass ratio of (70:30) to (90:10). The thickener consists of a diurea compound shown by a formula (1).

LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Provided is a lubricating oil composition for internal combustion engine, which further reduces the friction to exhibit excellent fuel efficiency performance. A lubricating oil composition for internal combustion engine, which contains (A) a lubricant base oil having a dynamic viscosity of 2.0 to mm.sup.2/s at 100 C., (B) a molybdenum-based friction modifier in an amount of 0.005 to 0.2% by mass, in terms of a molybdenum content, based on the mass of the composition, (C) a salicylate-based metal detergent in an amount of 0.01 to 1% by mass, in terms of a metal content, based on the mass of the composition, and (D) at least one compound selected from amino acids having an alkyl group, alkenyl group, or acyl group having 15 to 24 carbon atoms and/or derivatives thereof in an amount of 0.01 to 10% by mass.
Lubricating Grease Composition
The invention provides a lubricating grease composition comprising an oil of lubricating viscosity, a metallic soap thickener and a boron-containing compound, wherein the boron containing compound comprises a borate ester comprising at least one alkyl group having a branch at the position or higher. The invention further relates to a method of lubricating a mechanical device with the lubricant composition.
SPIRO COMPOUND AS DETERGENT ADDITIVE IN LUBRICANTS FOR MARINE ENGINES
The present patent application relates to the use, as detergent additive in a lubricating composition intended for a marine engine, of at least one spiro compound of formula (I)
##STR00001## in which M is an atom chosen from boron and aluminum; n1 and n2 have, independently of one another, the value 0, 1 or 2; and R represent, independently of one another, a hydrocarbon group comprising from 1 to 50 carbon atoms, in particular from 5 to 20 carbon atoms.
It also relates to the use of said spiro compound as additive in a lubricating composition intended for a marine engine, for improving the stability to oxidation of said lubricating composition.
Finally, it relates to a lubricating composition intended for the lubrication of a marine engine, comprising one or more base oils and at least one spiro compound of formula (I), and also to a process of lubrication of a marine engine employing such a composition.
LUBRICATING COMPOSITION FOR PREVENTING OR REDUCING ABNORMAL COMBUSTION IN AN ENGINE
Lubricating composition for preventing or reducing abnormal combustion in an engine
The present patent application relates to the use of a lubricating composition comprising one or more base oils and at least one spiro compound with the following formula (I)
##STR00001## in which M is an atom selected from boron and aluminum; R, independently of one another, represents a hydrocarbon group comprising from 1 to 50 carbon atoms; and n1 and n2, independently of one another, equal 0, 1 or 2; in order to prevent and/or reduce the abnormal consumption of fuel in an engine lubricated by means of said lubricating composition, in particular in a gas-powered engine.
SPIRO COMPOUND AS DETERGENT ADDITIVE IN LUBRICANTS FOR MOTORIZATION SYSTEMS
The present patent application relates to the use, as detergent additive in a lubricating composition intended for a motorization system, of a spiro compound of formula (I)

It also relates to a lubricating composition intended for the lubrication of a motorization system, comprising one or more base oils and at least one spiro compound of formula (I), and to a process for lubricating a motorization system using such a composition.
LUBRICATING COMPOSITION CONTAINING AN OXYALKYLATED AROMATIC POLYOL COMPOUND
The disclosed technology provides a lubricating composition comprising an oil of lubricating viscosity and 0.01 wt % to 10 wt % of an oxyalkylated aromatic polyol compound, wherein the aromatic compound has at least one alkoxy group represented by OR.sup.1 group, R.sup.1 is hydroxyalkyl, or a (poly)ether group, and either: at least one hydroxyl group, or at least one alkoxy group represented by OR.sup.1 group, where R.sup.1 is alkyl, or a (poly)ether group, or at least one oxyalkyl group represented by OR.sup.1, where R.sup.1 is hydroxyalkyl or a (poly)ether group. The disclosed technology further relates to a method of lubricating a mechanical device (such as an internal combustion engine) with the lubricating composition. The disclosed technology further relates to the use of the oxyalkylated aromatic polyol compound in the lubricating composition to a passenger car internal combustion engine at least one of (i) control of fuel economy, (ii) control of corrosion, (iii) cleanliness, and (iv) control of bore wear.
Boron free corrosion inhibitors for metalworking fluids
The present invention generally relates, in certain aspects, to corrosion inhibiting compositions useful for metalworking fluids, as well as concentrates, additives and metalworking fluids containing such compositions. The invention furthermore relates, in some aspects, to the use of such compositions for providing to a metalworking fluid one or more of anticorrosion performance, antifoam performance, antiwear performance, load carrying capacity, long fluid life, biological stability, lubricity, hard water tolerance, formulation stability.
Stabilized blends containing antioxidants
The present invention relates to functional fluid compositions containing antioxidants, and specifically stable compositions containing antioxidants with limited solubility in and/or limited compatibility with the functional fluids with which they are used. In particular the present invention deals with functional fluids used in internal combustion engines, such as engine oils, and antioxidants containing a phenolic or benzoic group, where the antioxidant is present in the functional fluid composition at levels that would otherwise cause the composition to be unstable and/or hazy.
