HIGH TEMPERATURE ZINC COMPLEX GREASE

Zinc complex greases with different complexing acids having dropping points comparable to lithium greases and tailor-made dropping points can be made by processing at low temperature in open as well as close kettle process. The present invention discloses a process of manufacturing Zinc complex greasesthrough reaction of fatty acid and complexing acid with zinc oxide in mineral oil to obtain zinc complex greases having high dropping points of 180 to 280 C.

REFRIGERATOR OIL AND COMPOSITION FOR REFRIGERATORS
20200377776 · 2020-12-03 · ·

The present invention relates to a refrigerator oil for a mixed refrigerant containing less than 40% by mass of an unsaturated fluorinated hydrocarbon compound (HFO) on a basis of the whole amount of the mixed refrigerant, the refrigerator oil containing a base oil (P) including at least one selected from the group consisting of a polyvinyl ether (PVE), a polyalkylene glycol (PAG), a copolymer (ECP) of a poly(oxy)alkylene glycol or a monoether thereof and a polyvinyl ether, and a polyol ester (POE), with a hydroxy value of the base oil (P) being 15 mgKOH/g or less; and a refrigerator oil composition containing the foregoing refrigerator oil and a specified refrigerant.

Dual metallocene-catalyzed bimodal copolymer compositions

This application relates to copolymer compositions and copolymerization processes. The processes may use two different metallocene catalysts: one capable of producing high molecular weight copolymers; and one suitable for producing lower molecular weight copolymers having at least a portion of vinyl terminations, and the copolymer compositions produced thereby. Copolymer compositions may comprise (1) a first ethylene copolymer fraction having high molecular weight, exhibiting branching topology, and having relatively lower ethylene content (based on the weight of the first ethylene copolymer fraction); and (2) a second ethylene copolymer fraction having low molecular weight, exhibiting linear rheology, and having relatively higher ethylene content (based on the weight of the second ethylene copolymer fraction). It is believed that the unique combination of these properties provides a copolymer composition with advantageous viscosity modifying properties, such as an excellent combination of shear thinning and fuel economy, as well as high thickening efficiency.

LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION, INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE, AND LUBRICATION METHOD FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

The present invention relates to a lubricating oil composition containing a base oil (A) containing an olefin-based polymer (A1) having an area ratio of a peak derived from a hydride (A11) of a decene trimer of 80% or more relative to 100% of a total area of peaks derived from the olefin-based polymer (A1) detected in a chromatogram and having predetermined kinematic viscosity, flash point, and pour point, a viscosity index improver (B) containing a comb-shaped polymer (B1), and an organic molybdenum-based compound (C), in which the content of the comb-shaped polymer (B1) is regulated within a specified range and having a HTHS viscosity at each of 150 C. and 50 C. of the lubricating oil composition and a NOACK value in predetermined ranges, respectively.

LUBRICANT COMPOSITION FOR GEAR OIL
20200277540 · 2020-09-03 · ·

The present invention relates to a lubricant composition, and more particularly to a lubricant composition, which includes an ethylene-alphaolefin oligomer and an alkylated phosphonium compound, thus realizing energy reduction and an increased endurance life, and which is thus suitable for use in gear oil. The lubricant composition of the present invention includes a base oil, a liquid olefin copolymer, and an alkylated phosphonium compound.

Synthetic industrial lubricants with improved compatibility

The invention relates to industrial gear oil compositions that have been specially designed to have improved storage stability and/or paint compatibility and/or seal compatibility. This improvement is achieved while maintaining good performance in other areas. These improvements are particularly relevant to synthetic lubricants, such as those made with polyalphaolefin (PAO) base oils. This balance of properties has been difficult to achieve in synthetic compositions where problems in the areas of storage stability, paint compatibility and/or seal compatibility of become more pronounced. The invention also relates to processes of making such compositions and methods of using the same.

BASE OIL AND LUBRICANT OIL COMPOSITION INCLUDING THE SAME

A base oil includes an ester compound obtained by reacting a fatty acid component and a monohydric alcohol component. The fatty acid component includes a C.sub.4-C.sub.28 fatty acid. The monohydric alcohol component includes at least one C.sub.4-C.sub.22 straight chain monohydric alcohol and at least one C.sub.4-C.sub.22 branched chain monohydric alcohol. A lubricant oil composition including the base oil is also disclosed.
