A fully-formulating lubricating composition comprising an oil of lubricating viscosity; an ionic tetrahedral borate compound including a tetrahedral borate anion having a boron atom with two bidentate di-oxo ligands both being a linear C18-tartrimide; a first dispersant comprising a conventional ammonium substituted polyisobutenyl succinimide compound having a polyisobutenyl number average molecular weight of 750 to 2,500; a second dispersant comprising an ammonium substituted polyisobutenyl succinimde compound having an N:CO ratio of 1.8 and a polyisobutylenyl number average molecular weight of 750 to 2,500, wherein one or more of the first dispersant and the second dispersant are in cationic form. A composition comprising an oil of lubricating viscosity and a compound represented by formula (I) wherein: x is 0 or 1; R.sup.1 is a hydrocarbyl group containing about 4 or about 18 carbon atoms; R.sup.2 is an aliphatic hydrocarbyl group containing about 1 to about 12 carbon atoms; and y is 0 or 1, which composition is effective at swelling seals.

A composition comprising an oil of lubricating viscosity and a compound represented by formula (I) wherein: R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are each independently a hydrocarbyl group containing from about 4 to about 18 carbon atoms; p and q are each independently 0 or an integer from 1 to 3, and the sum of p and q is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6. The composition is effective at swelling seals.

Provided herein are polyolefin dispersants, as well as methods for producing polyolefin dispersants. The polyolefin dispersants can be defined by the formula below

where R.sup.x is cationic initiator residue; R.sup.a is a polyolefin group; R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are each, independently in each (CR.sup.1R.sup.2) unit, H, alkyl, alkoxy, or alkylaryl; R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are each, independently, H, alkyl, or alkoxy; m is an integer from 1 to 20; n is an integer from 1 to 6; r is an integer from 1 to 4; Y is a polyvalent amine linker comprising one or more tertiary amines, wherein the polyvalent amine linker does not include a primary amine or a secondary amine; and A is absent, or comprises a dispersive moiety.
POLYSILOXANE HYDRAULIC FLUIDS
The present disclosure relates to polysiloxanes, processes for preparing polysiloxanes, and hydraulic fluids comprising polysiloxanes. This disclosure also relates to hydraulic fluids comprising one or more polysiloxane compounds and diphosphonate compounds, and to the use of diphosphonate compounds in hydraulic fluids or as additives or components in various compositions, for example to provide fire retardant properties to a fluid or composition. This disclosure also relates to use of the compositions as hydraulic fluids, which may be used in various machines, vehicles and craft, including aircraft.
ALIPHATIC TETRAHEDRAL BORATE COMPOUNDS FOR LUBRICATING COMPOSITIONS
An additive for a lubricating composition includes an ionic tetrahedral borate compound which includes a cation and a tetrahedral borate anion having a boron atom, the boron atom has at least one aliphatic bidentate di-oxo ligand. The cation may be selected to provide detergent and/or dispersant and/or antioxidant properties to a lubricating composition.
Desicating synthetic refrigeration oil composition for fluoro-olefin refrigeration systems
A working fluid for use in a compression refrigeration, air conditioning or heat pump system, is described, which has a refrigerant composed of a fluoro-olefin, and a lubricant which is a mixture of polyol ester and a polyoxyalkylene glycol, and the polyol ester is present in an amount of at least 50% by weight based on the total weight of the polyol ester and the polyoxyalkylene glycol. A lubricant, being a mixture of a polyol ester and a polyoxyalkylene glycol, is described and comprises at least 10% by weight of polyoxyalkylene glycol based on the total weight of the polyol ester and the polyoxyalkylene glycol.
Grafted Polymer with Soot Handling Properties
The present disclosure relates to viscosity index modifiers that have dispersant properties and lubricating oil compositions comprising said viscosity index modifiers. The disclosure also relates to the use of lubricant compositions comprising the viscosity index improvers of the disclosure for improving the soot or sludge handling characteristics of an engine lubricant composition, while minimizing the deterioration of engine seals.

The one or more lubricating oil additives having at least one protected active group are converted into one or more lubricating oil additives having at least one unprotected active group in the lubricating oil in-service in an engine or other mechanical component. A method for improving solubility of one or more lubricating oil additives in a lubricating oil.
