Lubricating compositions comprising an azole-acrylic adduct formed by contacting an azole compound with an acrylic. The adduct formed has at least one N-alkyl group comprising at least one acyl. The lubricating composition also comprises a thiadiazole. Methods of lubricating a component of a farm tractor, off-highway vehicle or drivetrain comprising contacting the component with the lubricating composition comprising an azole-acrylic adduct formed by mixing an azole compound with an acrylic. Methods of reducing corrosion in a component. The use of an azole-acrylic adduct in a lubricating composition to reduce corrosion in a component.

Low zinc lubricant composition

The disclosed technology relates to lubricants for compression ignition internal combustion engines, particularly those demonstrating at least one of improved seals performance, reduced deposit formation, and excellent durability. The present invention provides a low zinc lubricating composition comprising (a) an oil of lubricating viscosity, (b) a borated dispersant, and (c) a metal-free organo-phosphorus anti-wear additive, wherein the lubricating composition is substantially free of a metal containing sulfur coupled alkyl phenol compound. Further, the low zinc lubricating composition contains zinc in an amount less than 600 ppm by weight of the composition.

The present invention generally relates to lubricating oil compositions comprising a biobased base oil, methods of lubricating an engine with said lubricating oil compositions. Also disclosed is the use of said lubricating oil compositions in an engine.

COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING AN ALTERNATIVE TO DI-ISOTRIDECYL ADIPATE

The present invention concerns compositions, and more specifically lubricating compositions, comprising an alternative to di-iso tridecyl adipate (DITA). The present invention therefore discloses compositions comprising di-(2-hexyldecyl) succinate, advantageously from a renewable source, and the uses thereof as lubricating compositions, in particular as hydraulic oils or engine oils.

TBN and Performance Booster

A lubricating oil composition including greater than 50% by weight of a base oil, based on the total weight of the lubricating oil composition and an additive for boosting the TBN of the lubricating oil without increasing the sulphated ash content. Also disclosed is a method for boosting the TBN of the lubricating oil composition as measured by both ASTM D-2896 and ASTM D-4739 without increasing the sulphated ash content by adding a TBN booster. The TBN booster can also be employed to improve results for the lubricating oil composition in a ball rust test and certain of the TBN boosters exhibit outstanding seal compatibility.

Basic ashless additives

A lubricant composition comprising an oil of lubricating viscosity and an N-hydrocarbyl-substituted γ-aminoester or γ-aminothioester, wherein the N-hydrocarbyl substituent comprises a hydrocarbyl group of at least 3 carbons atoms, with a branch at the 1 or 2 position of the hydrocarbyl chain, provides exhibits basicity and good seal performance.

Lubricating composition containing an aromatic compound

The invention provides a lubricating composition containing an aromatic compound and an oil of lubricating viscosity. The invention further relates to the use of the lubricating composition in an internal combustion engine. The invention further relates to the use of the aromatic compound as an antiwear agent.
